Tampons cant get stuck, they cannot get lost inside your body. Your vaginal area is not a hollow space, the walls touch eachother at all times. They hold a tampon in place.

If for some reason you should lose the string dont panic, you can bear down (munch like going to the bathroom) and the sides of your birth canal, which are all muscle, will actually push the tampno down a little so you can reach it more easily. But even if you cannot seem to 'push' it out you can reach it with your fingers.

Also, it cannot some how get lodged in your uterus, you have a cervix which remains too small for anything but fluid to pass through, let alone something the size of a tampon.

Once you find a brand and a size that works right for you, and you master the art of putting them in you'll be fine. You cannot feel a tampon at all when it is in place. You might be able to feel the string on the outer part of your body, but thats it. Until you get the placement and size right you can wear a thin pad (such as stayfree) incase you leak or something.

Slim fit tampons, or pearl might be better for you just starting out. DONT USE CARDBOARD APPLICATERS, theyre a pain for first timers. Use plastic.

Insert tampons slightly towards the back, your body naturally goes in that direction, not stright up and in, and not to the front. Your fingers should press against skin a little when you insert the applicater. Once you've gotten that far, jsut push the plunger that sets the tampon, until your thumb meets your other fingers. Voila! tampon! You should usually give the string a little bit of a tug after you put it in, it helps to set the tampon in place. But you dont have to if it makes you nervous, it doesnt really make a difference.

Dont try to put a tampon in when you're not bleeding, theyre uncomfortable to put in place when you're dry.

It'll take a while to get used to it, because in your mind it seems like they shouldnt be able to go that far in your body, or it might seem uncomfortable to get them in if you're not relaxed. Sitting on the toilet is the easiest way.

In the end you might just not be a tampon wearer. I just couldnt figure them out, and they just didnt fit right, until after i was married. But if you relax and try a good brand you will figure it out.

well, if you're anything like i was- you're just a little skittish about the idea of putting something inside of you. It feels weird at first. but trust me, you'll get used to it. Just try purchasing a small box of an assortment of absorbency's. Buy easy glide, or the kinda that are meant for easy insertion. Then, read the instruction pamphlet that comes with it. It should detail the best positions to use when applying, and how long to leave it in, etc. Don't worry about it getting stuck, because if it does, you'll more than likely be able to get it out! and if you can't- then you'll come to that when you do- but more than likely you won't, if you follow the instructions they come with. just practise until you feel comfortable with doing it, and then use it when you need to- and if you're scared about not using the right absorbency, then wear a panty liner too until you've got the hang of it all. They really do make a wonderful difference for when you want to be active, or not have a bulky pad! You can do it! :)

They won't get stuck. It may be a challenge to get them in correctly in the beginning but it just takes practice. You probably would enjoy being able to use them during softball because you wouldn't even know it's there, a lot more comfortable than pads. Try tampax's site, I got some helpful info from them when I first started using tampons.

You really don't need to wear tampons unless you are going swimming. If you are not comfortable with them yet, I would advise waiting until you want to do it.I am sure your aunt was meaning well, but this is a personal decision. They cannot get stuck, but can be slightly uncomfortable until you learn to put them back far enough in your vagina. They do carry some risk of infection, although the infection, Toxic Shock Syndrome is fairly rare. If you choose to wear tampons, the best instructions, including diagrams of how to best put them in, are included in the insert in the box. Good luck! Do what you are comfortable with!

First of all, the tampon cannot get stuck. There is only one way in and one way out. It will not get stuck in you.

You will feel more comfortable, confident, etc. if you use them during a sporting event. If you are worried about leaking use a panty liner in tandem with the tampon.

If you are still skeptical, try using one before game day. Then you will be able to see how well it works for you.

I used to be scared of tampons too. But I talked to my friends and my mother and they all convinced me that they are ok. I am still scared a little that they might get stuck, but I still use them and I love them. I dont wear pads at all now. Tampons are really great, you should try it, see how you like it, and then decide for yourself how you feel about them. Don't worry about a thing, talk to your mom and have her explain how they go in and stuff like that. And they are flushable so use toilet paper to pull it out by the srting and just flush. They are really great. OH and i used to not put them in far enough and they were uncomfortable. So make sure you put them in far enough and you really will like them.

Good luck sweetie!!!

it can't go so far that it will get lost; it will hit your cervix and won't go any farther north. the only reason it would ever get stuck is if you used a super-duper one (sorry for the indelicacy) when your flow wasn't very heavy and it absorbed all of your natural moisture. even then, you could remove it, it just wouldn't be very comfortable. use the regular size and you'll be fine.

don't worry, everybody's nervous when they use them for the first time, but they really are MUCH better than pads.

Don't be scared to try new things. I did pads for the longest time and when I turned 22 I tried the tampon and my life is so much easier. As long as the string is hanging down you are fine.

What would guys be able to tell you about tampons???? Crazy.
Anyway, it won't fall out, the string will NOT come off. Nothing will go wrong, just wait and see, once you start wearing them you will love them. You usually can't even feel them.
