A friend from Grimsby told me they only serve Haddock in chip shops up north as apparently Cod feeds at the top of the sea and eats all sorts of impure foods. Haddock live deeper in the seas and are more fussy with their diet resulting in a more refined fish.

Dunno if that information is completely correct but made me order Haddock every time now.

Bon appetit

Haddock, with Cod only starting to build up again I won't buy it for a while. Haddock is fab anyway.

I always ask for cod, but as it's in short supply these days, you'll probably find that more often than not, you're getting haddock anyway.
