I used to stay with friends of my parents when I was a child. They lived next to the Railway Inn. It's a one street place but has a certain charm. Lovely to be able to just cross the road and be on the beach.
There was a church just inland and I remember that the vicar was blind, very cheerful chap. Ynyslas is nearby, I did a litter pick up there once. Silly little childhood memories!!

Three pubs, few shops, small amusement arcade, few takeaways. There are some caravan parks nearby.
Beach has pebbles at the top, but nice sand closer to the sea. Nice sandy beach about a mile away (Ynyslas, but be sure to go over the dunes to the sea, not the estuary!)
Weekly market every Tuesday. (Sunday market type, not farmers market)
OK bus service to Aberystwyth, 5 miles away. Nice town with plenty of shops, supermarkets, pubs and cafes.
