okay been there done this and im sorry. lol. but trust me its not the end of the world even though it might feel like it. okay this is what i did with my son and now he is five and potty trained. okay u can get the cooling sensation pullups which when he wets them it will get cold and it might help him not want to go in his pants. they also have things u can throw into the toilet they disolve when the kid pees or u can even use cheerios have him throw it in the potty and go pee on it. and if all else fails use the potty chairs that sing when your child pottys and make it fun but first be sure he is ready cause if he isnt he wont work with u. but be positive even let him sit and pee and they have toilet inserts to make it easier for them to sit on the big potty. good luck dont lose faith he can do it. be careful with pullups too cause to some kids it doesnt matter if it has a cooling sensation it still might feel like a diaper and they think hey i can pee in it.

The short answer is...wait until he is ready. The average boy will potty train between 2.5 and 3 years old. Your little guy is just not ready yet.
Something I did to train mine was. I have him a potty for Christmas and then he would sit on it and watch TV or we would read books. Reading books about going to the potty while on the potty is helpful. Hopefully he will pee while on the potty and if that does happen make a big deal about it! Lots of praise and hugs. Maybe a treat.
But he won't do it until he is ready.

Relax. Don't push too hard. I don't know any adults who wear diapers because they refuse to be trained.

Try this book: Once upon a potty
Little boys like to play sink the boat (with a piece of tissue).
Keeping dry overnight is a whole other thing too. If there is a problem, it could be medical, or it could be genetic. (Did either parent have this problem?)
But at 3 it is not really an issue. Just don't push it too hard. When he is successful, reward him.
Take him shopping. Get him "grown up" pants that he loves only he can't wear them until he's potty trained.
The worst thing is going in a car during potty training. No matter if he goes or not, the instant he's in the car, he'll have to go 12 times before you get where you're going. It's the privy equivilent of Murphy's law. The farther you are from a bathroom, the more urgent will be his need to go. (Something like that.)

I used to do daycare we made it a game almost. we would use Cheerios and try to have them aim or have the boys sit on the toilet backwards. that always seemed to work.

I know the feeling.
My son was 4 when we finally got all that settled.
Best of luck.
