The answer depends on how tall you and your husband are.
How tall was your husband at age ten?
How tall were your brothers at ten?
How tall was your father at ten, your husband's father at ten?
Older brothers at ten?
Genetics will dictate how tall a kid is at a certain point in time.
If he is otherwise healthy, eats a good healthful diet, then don't worry. He's fine. don't worry!

My son was the same way for along time. He was always bone thin and tiny.
All children are different, they grow and gain weight when their bodies are ready to and not before.
Don't worry. When he starts growing, he may never stop and you clothes budget is going to go through the roof.
My son started gaining weight and height when he was 11. Now he'll be 15 in Oct. and he's about 5'6 and weighs a wopping 145 and he's still getting taller. I'm only 5'5, so i'm going to be looking up to him real soon.

My ten year old son is 4'10" and weighs 110 pounds, which I think is more than he should weigh. But it all depends on the size of the parents. I am only 5'4" tall with a small body frame but my husband is 6'2" tall with a big body frame, so my son's height could be attributed to the height of his father. Now I would be a little concerned about his weight of only 59 pounds.

According to the chart below your son is as heavy as a little more than 95% of boys his age and as tall or taller than 25% of boys his age. This means that he is a bit heavier than most ten year old boys and a bit shorter. But kids have such a range of "normal" the best thing to do is ask your doctor for his or her opinion about your sons growth.

I would say that is a little shorter than usual. It isn't a reason for concern, most boys hit their growth spurt around 11-14 and he should be just fine. If he doesnt grow at all I would ask his pediatrician.

he is a bit on the shorter side. his height goes poorly with his weight he should be in the 90's. but let puberty kick in. you'll be looking up, instead of down at him.
