South of Cardiff, there is a town called Penarth. It is a nice are to live, and can take under five minutes to get to Cardiff. It has some good schools, and a hospital is right nearby. It, along with Cardiff bay is goin under a regeneration (After the coal industry dried up), so developments are being made. It is on the coast, has easy access to the M4 motorway and not far from Cardiff International Airport. It has a train station. There are plenty of offices in Cardiff for jobs. I don't really know what job you may be looking for, but Cardiff is the capital city so should be able to fulfil your requirements. If not, consider North-east wales, since Liverpool is close by and that should have plenty of jobs

My brother has just bought a house in Port Talbot.Near Swansea. Its right by a secluded beach and he paid cash for the property there.
The people there are really nice to the English.I can only assume they will be the same to an American.
It is near the M4 motorway which has a direct route to london. Its about a 3 hour drive.
My brother is a mechanic and had no problem finding a job although he earns less.He has an easier life then here in London.Mortgage free and happy now.
