The Dell Dimension 3100C should do fine £369.

Or at DAB's Lenovo IBM J105 £295.84

one ingredient, do no longer use a power grant that comes with your case. seek for comments and get a popularity style like Seasonic, computer power and Cooling or Antec. you could no longer build a working laptop or pc which will do plenty different than surfing the internet for under $600. in case you like a miles less high priced Intel rig, right here is what I even have: container - POS I have been given for around $40, it rather is regularly selection. Motherboard - ASUS P5ND2-SLi - $60 open container CPU - Intel Pentium D 805 (inventory 2.66GHz, mine is at 3.4 on inventory air cooling) - $a hundred thirty RAM - 2*1GB G.skill PC2-5400 - $one hundred fifty HDD - WD 250GB 7.2K RPM - $eighty PSU - Thermaltake PurePower 500W - $40 Video Card - eVGA nVidia 7900GT - $3 hundred * NIC - built-in OS - abode windows XP professional - (loose, legally, via connections, Vista could come out January) Optical - NEC DVD+/-RW - $30 Cables got here with it. All however the PSU, OS, Optical, and HDD got here from NewEgg. *The 7900GT would be had for as low as $230. it rather is hands-down the terrific fee for video enjoying cards. it rather is the authentic same via fact the 7900GTX, nVidia's authentic-of-the-line single chip card different than the GTX has 512MB of reminiscence.

I have a Dell inspiron 6400 laptop and its fantastic..I love it...there was a battery scare with them last week and my laptop was listed on the recall site, so I looked up the serial no. on my battery & checked it ot, luckily mine wasn't one that needed to go back...the thing is with Dell they are very good at recalling and replacing faulty parts, whereby some manufacturers can be evasive.

It doesn't matter, if your computer's for educational purposes, all you need to buy is a midrange to low-priced computer. These are the specs that I would recommend:
80GB hard drive
512 MB of memory
a processor that's around 2 Ghz
a CD/DVD burner
Good Luck!

I will suggest you not to go for DELL atleast in the near future. They are in very very deep S*** since the past few days. Also Sony too.
Why dont you try HP- COMPAQ Presario ? Its really very good and with good speed and configerations etc.
Keep in touch

Consider buying a Hewlett Packard (HP). Don't just look at the PC's designed for home users either - take a look at the DC5100 for business users. I've got one and it's great!
