i only know his first name, the country where he was born, the city he lives in now (neither is my country), his job, his age, and I have two pictures of us together...i met him at a festival, we became friends and i would like to know if he's still alive, and maybe just keep in touch with him...it would be really important for me, but I don't want to seem annoying and do stupid things...any ideas?

Type in the address bar http://profiles.yahoo.com/abcd where abcd is the user id. U will be able to find the person's profile available with yahoo.

Assuming you've used a Search engine..... I would:
- go to the festival again where you first met him
- when you say job do you mean place of work? You could always search the workplace's website
- post a question on answers for someone working at the same company
- look on Friends Reunited for schools in the area he was born/lives and trawl through for his name....

Is it easy for you to take trips? do you fly often? If you know where he works, why not drop by ion his country to see him and ask him to join you for lunch? Tell him you were visiting the area and act like it was accidental you happen to bump into him.
plan out a little vacation for yourself and just go for it. Maybe takes some friends with you.

Really could have done with his second name, would help you alot.
The only thing I can suggest is try to find the company he works for and see if you can get contact details for him...an email or something.

If you have his zip code you can go to myspace and do a search there.
Enter his name
then modify search by his age and zip code.
You can do to the yellow pages to find his zip.
