Hello everyone..

I was just noticing that without the A you have gnostic..and without the A you have theist..so if one was to but the A back in gnostic you could say they are A gnostic..or they are A theist..so you see, we are not that different from one another are we.. :)

All comments are welcome.. :)

Interesting observation and no we are not that different. We have more in common than that which seperates us.

I would say that most people who are consciously atheist are also agnostic.

The term 'agnostic' was coined by Thomas Huxley and it refers quite simply to a person who holds the view that it is wrong to assert the truth of a proposition without logically satisfactory evidence.

So, an agnostic would say that it's wrong to say "God exists" or "No gods exist" without the argument or evidence to back it up. Moreover, the agnostic would say that it's immoral for a person to tell someone else that they *ought* to believe in the existence of a god or gods without providing logically satisfactory evidence to support that claim.

A 'theist' is defined as someone who believes in the existence of a god or gods, so an atheist is anyone who is not a theist.

So you can be agnostic and also an atheist, or agnostic and a theist, or not agnostic and an atheist, or not agnostic and a theist.

The A actually refers to the word NO. The atheists say there is no God. gnostics dont know so agnostics dont know that they dont know.

We're very different from one another. Putting an "a" at the beginning of a word denies the root meaning of the following word. Example: amusement. Muse is to think over. Amuse means not to think.

Amusement park!

The difference between you and me is still that I know why it's Agnostic and not a gnostic....

Atheist is sure there is no God and tries hard to prevent others from accepting one. An agnostic is just not sure whether he exist or not and keeps his mouth shut.

Atheist
Agnostic
Abiogenesis
Asexual
the A in front of each just means "lack of"
so lack of theism of gnosticism, of sexuality. get it?

ummm ok sorry but that was stupid! Yes we are a lot different because Christain believe and we don't so in that subject we are different but in liking of other stuff we can have similarities . Buts its not that amazing that when you take the "As" off a word it makes it different but sorry thats just not fasinating to me.
