Hi. I am a judo dan grade and have done Taekwondo too in the past. I think you should do some judo too. Judo canhelp with your fighting in taekwondo as it will help immensly with your spacial awareness, ability to fall, stamina and how to fight if you get 'in close' You will learn how to easily put someone on the floor with a simple trip and then be able to follow up with some strikes. Judo is a great work out to and is very physical and combative. Give it a try you never know you might like it.

Judo's much more oppositionally effective in a fight than Tae Kwon Do anyday...and being well-rounded is incredibly important when it comes to defending oneself....especially if you find a Judo instructor that teaches real world application instead of just competition Judo.
If you become even remotely competant in Judo you should be able to put a serious whooping on your classmates if your Saba Nim (sp?) allows you to throw in a sparring session.
Trust me, get part a TKD fighters knees and he's done for....every single one I've ever sparred against has that weakness...though make sure they have at least SOME idea how to roll or land before you throw them too hard. If they have piss-poor ukemi...they'll likely jam a shoulder, neck, etc landing incorrectly.
Have fun!

It depends on what you want. I was in a couple of judo programs for several years. It's a good physical workout, and you'll learn how to fight close-in, both standing and on the ground. I have not studied TKD, but my understanding is that it's primarily kicks punches, and so on. If you're looking for self-defense techniques, I would think the two would work well together. One will serve you close-in, the other lets you fight or defend yourself at arms length from your opponent. If you're looking for another exercise program, judo will provide that, too.
Or it can just be a sweaty way to learn more japanese. It's your call.

how rounded a fighter do you want to be , time is a great thing in the martial arts , the longer you spend the better your skill and also the mind is more capable of assimilating the information it receives and can process this quicker, very important in any potential conflict . Judo a great contact sport, i spent 18 years studying this and have never regretted the time spent . You need a high level of skill to make use of it . good luck

I think it's about making urself an all-around great martial artist. Styles differ in so many ways. I personally have backgrounds in serveral styles including Tae-Kwon Do, Karate, Jujitsu, Mui Tai, and kempo. Tae-Kwon Do offers great kicking skills, y not balance that out with the throwing and grappling techniques of Judo. Go for it

It's a good idea to learn to fight on the ground as well as on your feet.
It would be a good idea to have a look at Ju-jitsu (wider range of locks and take downs) and Judo before you commit.
Ultimately - do what's good for you.

Do what interests you the most.
Since you've got a background in Tae-Kwon-Do, I would look into Hapkido if I were you. It's also a korean art and I think the two would work well together.
