I have used Garnier Nutirsse for years b/c it conditions well...but it fades fast. I'd like to try a different brand, but afriad of drying my hair out too much. Does anyone use something different that conditions well and might not fade as fast? I was thinking about Nice & Easy, what do you think?

L'Oreal Feria, Clairol Nice N Easy and Revlon Colorstay. These pretty much stay on without fading just barrow down your choices by picking the shade you want.

Tip: For 14 days use a shampoo meant for color treated hair to maintain your haircolor. the 2 weeks are most crucial. Whatever the color of your hair is at that time will be the color for the entire period till roots grow out. If you use shampoo that is too strong lkike a clarifying formula during this period your color will fade

Not everyone can afford a salon. I'm with you on doing as much on your own. Salons are too expensive for the majority of women. Having said that, I think all the hair color manufacturers are making a less-satisfactory product these days. I hear so many complaints from women that their brand of hair color (even L'Oreal) fades! What I would do is go to a beauty supply company and ask what is the best. Doing it yourself can still save you loads!

I've always used L'Oreal because that's what others recommend. I've never had a problem with fading. I am not sure how well it conditions compared to others, but I used a shampoo and conditioner for color treated hair and the weekly conditioner that comes with the color and I've never had a problem.
