They both believe In one God they both believe that jesus had a miracle birth they both believe jesus was put on the cross and they both believe in the bible.

However christians believe Jesus (pbuh) to be the son of god whereas muslims believe god has no son or daughter and Jesus (pbuh) was simply a prophet of god. Christians believe jesus (pbuh) was killed on the cross and muslims believe while he was put on the cross he was not killed on it he was actually lifted in to heaven by god. Christians believ in the new testament of the bible however muslims believe that while the bible is a holy book for them aswell it has now been corrupted and some of the teachings in it have been changed and they quran is the only holy book that has not been corrupted because god himself promised to protect it.

They both believe that Jesus (pbuh) is the mashia and he will come on the day of judgement to lead his followers, however muslims believe that when Jesus reseruct and comes back as the mashia he will lead everyone away from evil and the world will live in seven years of peace under the rule of jesus (pbuh) before the actual jusgement day itself and I think christians believe that it will just be judgement day and thats it.

Those are the main simmilarites and differences between muslims and christians.

raja pakistani,
Do the Muslims believe that Jesus is God? I think not.

Did Jesus have a problem with any scriptures? No.

Does that mean that Ishmael did not get the birthright that Isaac got? Yes.

Who got the better promise? Isaac, one of the patriarchs of the Jews. And it is through that line that all nations will be blessed. Jesus came from that line on his mothers side. Jesus was Jewish.

Israel is the land promised to the Hebrews, the Jews being right to be there. The sons of Ishmael did not have a claim on it, since God gave it to them.

Some in the religion of Islam are trying to take Israel from the Jew. Christians that have the mind of Christ know that Islam has no claim on Israel. EVER.

Islam and Christianity are not the same.

The Big 3 (Christianity, Islam & Judaism) are very similar. The major difference is their thoughts on Jesus. Both Islam & Judaism view him as a prophet only, no "son of God" or immaculate conception theory. The rest is basically the same.

Both believe in the same God.

Muslims believe that Jesus is only a Prophet.

Muslims do not allow Pork or Alcohol.

Muslims do not believe that Jesus was on the Cross.

Christians do NOT allow men 4 wives and also allow men to sleep with their servants, Muslims do.

Muslims allow instant divorce.

Christians believe in Marriage between 1 man and 1 woman.

The single most important difference:

Muslims believe in NO separation in Church and State, and they wish to impose Islamic law on all.

Muslims have no central leadership within their faith so different sects can sprout up with radical teachings and there is no way to control them.

Catholic Christians have the Bishops and the Pope, (who we do NOT worship)

Jesus had no wife, Muhammed had 15, one only 6-9 years old, (consumated when she was 9 according to most Muslims)

Peace!

Yes, there are similarities, but they are almost coincidental. Yes, we both believe in one God, but it isn't the same one. This was already addressed in an earlier answer. But Jesus is much more than a mere messenger or prophet. If you actually read the Bible, you will see that He claimed not only to be the Son of God, but God incarnate.

Mark 14:62 And Jesus said, I AM: and ye shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven. :63 Then the high priest rent his clothes, and saith, What need we any further witnesses? :64 Ye have heard the blasphemy:...
John 5:43 I am come in my Father's name (power), and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, [Mohammed] him ye will receive.
John 8:58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I AM.

Final score Islam 1-1 Christianity. Late header by Noah cancelling out early wonderstrike from 40 yards by Mohammed. Bit of crowd trouble.

There is no similiarty between these beliefs. They are in exact opposition. The god the Muslims worship is not the God of the bible, therefore he is a false god.

Islam believes that Allah "does not begat, neither is he begotten". Islam denies the death of Jesus on the cross, and believes that Jesus was nothing more than a prophet of God, and not even as important as their Mohammed.

Christianity is based on the person of Jesus Christ, the only begotten son of God who died on a cross, rose again, and is the only way to salvation.

Jesus stated "If you have not the son, you have not the Father". This doesn't mean merely that you believe Jesus existed. It means you believe He is what He is, the son of God. Therefore, Islam does know, or worship, the only real God.

If you have read the Qu'ran, you would know that Islam considers itself the next generation religion. It recognizes the Torah of the Jews (Old Testament) and the Gospel of the Christians (New Testament) as being the words of God prior to the Qu'ran and demands that Jews and Christians change their faith to Islam. They are all based on one God, and it is the same God for all three religions.

Edward I, you said:

"Islam follows the Quran, which instructs that all non believers embrace Islam or be put to death.
The goal is to rule the world and everyone worship Allah and Mohammad, by force and threat of death."

Let me guess... you voted for Bush, right?

I am truly amazed by your unparalled prejudice and lack of IQ. We need none of your hatemongering.

Basically:
Islam has only 1 Deity, Christianity has the Holy Trinity.
Islam considers Jesus as a prophet, Christianity believes he is the Son of God.
Both religions have advocated death to the "unbelievers". (i.e. Jihad and the Crusades)

More specifically; Islam restricts alcohol and pork, Christianity does not.
Christian clergymen take an oath of celibacy, Muslim clergymen don't.
Islam says we should directly help the poor by giving them money and supplies. In Christianity you help the Church help people.
Each year you fast for a mont if you are a Muslim. Christianity doesnt have that I think.
In Islam, you should pray (namaz) five times a day, as regulated by the Quran.
In Christianity, you pray whenever you like.
The holy day of Islam is Friday, the holy day of Christianity is Sunday.

Both religions say that we should not steal, kill, gossip, loath, get too greedy, cheat on our spouses and oppress other people.
Quran is more like a lawbook while the Bible is more like a spiritual guide.
In short, both religions tell us to live in peace and harmony. But as humans, we are so ill mannered that we fail to do so.

So, you see, there is no real reason to kill each other.

OMG what is wrong with you people, the things you say about Islam?!?
