I am a physical trainer and nutritionist, and honestly, depending on your current weight. If you were over wieght before you started the diet, then I would not say that it is unhealthy at all. However, I would say that you would get the optimum result if you include exercise as well. But if you are under weight or just at average, that is a drastic weight loss and you might want to balance it with come carbs (moderate amount). It issue now is that you are burning off everything, and probably feel tired at this point, that's because your body needs carbs for energy.
This is a good diet to be on, but your body cannot do without the natural sugars provided in carbohydrates.
Instead of eating hard carbs like pasta, you might want to eat some brown rice, potatoes, apples, pears. These have the right type of carbs the body needs.
Send me an email and I will send you a list of things you could buy for carbs and some simple workout regimens you could do at home.
Good luck.

A pint's a pound the world around. If you drink one pint of water you will weigh one pound more. If you dehydrate yourself the same amount you will weigh one pound less. If you exercise very hard you can lose a gallon of water in an hour. That is eight pints or eight pounds. The most your stomach can absorb is a quart an hour. That is four pounds. Do the math.
In Desert Storm soldiers were told to drink six gallons of water per day. That is one quart an hour. If you drink an excess of water your kidneys do their job.
You can join the National Guard. Do disaster relief and support the guys who stand between us and the bad guys. Ten thousand National Guard troops were moving before Katrina touched our shores last year. You might want to help the next time your country needs you. As already suggested, weight that comes off THAT fast is mostly water. Long-term weight loss is achieved at a rate of no more than 1-2 pounds per week.

it's healthy if you need to loose the weight. 5 pounds is not a lot of weight at the beginning. Usually at first you will loose more cause you are loosing water weight also. As long as you are getting all the nutrients your body needs then it's OK. Figure out how much you can loose according to your age and height.(look on the web)Try to stay within that range. Your body should adjust itself eventually as you continue to eat healthy.

Are you consuming the appropriate amount of calories? If your ideal weight is 130lbs, you need to consume at least 2000 cal/day.
Other things can attribute to weight loss than dieting. Your period can cause weight gain and loss and so can constipation.
You really should tell your doctor, if you haven't already, about your diet!
Good luck on being healthy!

For the first week, that's pretty normal.
After the first week, weight loss usually tapers off to about 1 or 2 lbs. a week ...
If you're still losing 5lbs. a week after a few weeks, then something's wrong ... but for the first week, it's pretty normal.

That is a bit fast, but perhaps most of that is water weight. I doubt its all fat loss. In any case, continue to eat healthy and congrats.

If you are eating nutritiously and drinking plenty of water I wouldn't be concerned. The first weight you lose is water. Just make sure you are hydrated.

What was your weight when you started? I sure hope it wasn't 90 pounds. I suggest you throw some lean meat into your diet, maybe 3 ounces each day.
