you have to show the same, maybe even more affection to the cat at this time, they become jealous very easy, and the ppeing is their way of showing you how they feel, aka bad attention is better then no attention. give the cat lots of love and attention, and alll will be well soon :)

It sounds like your cat might be a little jealous. Take some time to be alone with your cat. You can play with him, brush him, give him some treats. Give him some royal treatment so that he knows that you haven't kicked him to the curb.

As far as the clean clothes and dish towels. Maybe put those somewhere where your cat can't get to them.

Between spending some extra time with your feline friend and putting the clothes and towels away it should help. It may take some time for your cat to get used to the dog. Especially, if he is used to getting 110% of your love and affection.

Sounds like marking. First, get a product called Comfort Zone with Feliway. It is a plug-in diffuser that emits a synthetic pheromone to reduce anxiety and urine marking. Most pet supply stores have it.

Second, start giving the cat wonderful things when the dog comes around. He will be less stressed and more willing to accept the dog's presence if he associates the dog with tuna, catnip, chicken, play with a Cat Charmer, etc. - whatever really rocks his world. When the dog leaves the room, the good stuff stops. Soon, the cat will be seeking out the dog for goodies.

Finally, stress can trigger a urinary tract infection, so a call to the vet is worth considering.

Good luck!

Oh my.. little kitties(cats) will do most anything to get back at their masters.. It is very cute in one way and can be smelly in another. Your kitty is telling you that he is the king of the house and you have no right to bring in a D O G. Make sure that you give both the loving they need and above all, the cat. In time, usually less than a week, all will be normal

You need to make sure you address the cat FIRST all the time. The dog isn't going to care but it will make all the difference in the world for your cat's ego....which is bruised right now. Make sure to spend extra time petting her, feed her first, etc so this cat knows she is not being replaced.

Obviously, the cat is jealous, so you need to give him more time and affection until he accepts the dog. Also, gotta make sure you don't let the dog chase him, that'll just tick him off more.

I know its 99% likely to do with the dog, but check the pee for blood.. cats will urinate on couches or your other items if they develop a urinary tract infection or kidney stones. If there is blood, you will want to take it to the vet.

well my mums cat is a female and has been spayed, but my mum got a dog about 3 years ago and omg she marked her territory everywere my mum went nuts ,but she persevered with her and she is fine now,she must feel very insecure she is lettin them know that this is her territory, give your cats lots of attention, and she should feel more secure the reason he his doing it on your clothes is simple, she is marking them with her scent, then your dog will know that you are part of her pack and not part of there,s hope this makes sense,

Sounds to me he is marking his terrortory. He/she is letting the new dog know who the boss is and also that he is mad at you for allowing such a thing in THEIR house. Get a water bottle and everytime your cat does that (if you catch him doing it) spray him with the water.

Ask your vet, or the nice people on a cat forum

The people here on yahoo answers are not the best to ask, even if they do have experience, please try one of the forums... the people are so willing to help because they love animals :-)
