I agree with the previous respondent as to the half way points and where the least expensive lodging is. You can also go to mapquest.com and ask for driving directions between the two points. It should give you the mileage between them too.
If you're looking for great food at a reasonable price (more than you can eat though!) try Black Bear Diners along the way. There's one in Redding and another in Yreka as well as Mt. Shasta City.
For gas prices, fill up in Redding or wait until you cross the border into Oregon. The prices in Oregon will be very close to Yreka, but at least they will fill your tank for you with a smile!

If you want the exact spot I cannot help you. If you want a city with lodging and restaurants, then Redding or Lake Shasta are about half way. Weed is another hour+ drive so past the half way.point. Redding has the most economical lodging, most restaurants and lowest cost fuel. Shasta is the most expensive.
