Honda Insight has best overall gas mileage -- 68 mpg highway and 61 city. I'll send you the I would beg to differ but my car has awesome gas mileage I drive a 97 plymouth neon and I get a little over 100 highway miles before I have to fill and at least 90 city miles. , Probaly anything with a 2.0 to a 2.6 liter an with a 4 cyl. Honda or a small Ford.

The most dependable Japanese engines currently are the SULEV and ULEV engines (super ultra low emmision vehicle) from Honda and Toyota. They come on the Civic and Corolla. The most reliable European engine is the TDI engine from VW. The Jetta gets 41-48mpg. This is an engine utilized in the EU by many companies using a fleet of vehicles. And you can also put bio-diesel in it for about .55-.65 cents a gallon! We are driving our 5th TDI and in 12 yrs we have never once had a problem. You can typically get 300K-375K on any one of these vehicles if you are not in the N.E. where salt corrosion eventually takes its toll on the vehicle. And don't buy into the "green" feel good crap about the Prius. They have not worked out the bugs and it is far from reliable, and very expensive to repair.

the most dependable car on the market right now is the Toyota corolla it is without a doubt the longest lasting car out there,,and also the cheapest to repair and operate,,and there so affordable,,you can find a good used one,,pretty easy,these cars if taken care of will last forever,,providing you take good care of them,,and keep the regular maintenance done on them,,i own a repair shop in Tennessee,and i bought one for a delivery car,,i hope this helps.

Forget the car, get a motorcycle. You'll get 45 to 60 mpg with a good one.

dont get a kia they are terrible I have a kia sephia and it only gets maybe 18 mpg if I am lucky it is always broke down right now it is broke cant drive it
