Ladies, or guys has online dating worked out for you? Did he/she meet up with your expectation?. Following a flow of emails I met two, who were nothing like their online pics, which must have been 15 yrs out of date. Both guys looked pregnant they were so chubby. One was so tight he asked if I would buy him a drink. One had a scar from his last drink drive accident!. A Disaster. I gave up after that. How have your online dates been?.Better than mine I hope.

When I was 24, I met several men off the internet - usually through the yahoo personals - after a serious, 2yr. relationship of mine ended (my choice). I was determined to move on and thought the internet would be a quick and easy way to set up dates. The internet just does things backward. Normally you meet someone face to face, but on the computer you learn about someone's personality and then meet them. Let's just say the sparks didn't fly for me with any of the guys. They were all interested in pursuing something, but I just couldn't. One was the most sarcastic person I've ever met, most of them were sex addicts, another was gay and didn't know it yet...every date was a diaster and I only went out with each of them one time. The other thing you have to worry about is how long has their ad been up there online, and will they keep it up there while dating you? I'm glad to be happily married now so I don't have to deal with that anymore. And I met my husband through his sister, who came up to me in a nail salon and said I'd be perfect for her brother. We dated 1 month before looking for rings, and he proposed 3 months later. When it's right, it's just right.

Well, knock on wood my dates that I have met on the net haven't been that disastrous. However, for the most part internet dating just like the women I meet in real life haven't worked out. Still single and 35. LOL

There was one woman that comes to mind. I will withold her name just because I am a heck of a guy. We met online and began chatting. After a few weeks, we exchanged cell phone numbers and made a date to meet at a club. Things were going well until the day I met her at the club. We were talking over a drink and when I went to the men's room, she was gone. The glass that she drank from was still rattling on the table where she just plunked it down! Oh well. It is her loss not mine. LOL

Yes I have tried it one time...it wasn't as cracked up to be. At first when I saw him everything seemed ok so i decided to do it again...and that's when everything that could go wrong went wrong. Come to find out that he had about two other women including a few online. He was nothing but a sex addict but he had hid it for a while. The only thing I can tell you if you want to do that is try it with someone that you have already met but you haven't talk to him or her in a while. Because if you don't you would probably be disappointed like me.

I've met a few, and I mean FEW decent people online. However, the biggest majority of them have lied about something, marital status, age, weight, etc. I always run checks on these people before meeting them in person,(ticked the last one off oh well), and let one slip through on checks, which wasn't cool. My best advice is to see if there are any free online court records search for your state and to also run a national sex offenders search on the person. I won't meet anyone else off line any more. Don't care for lies, and it seems its just "get laid" sites.

I've never tried an online dating site, but I met my boyfriend on the Internet and we've been together for two and a half years now.

Although I haven't used on-line dating, my sister met her husband through an on-line site. I think, as with job hunting, the best approach is to use different sources for dating -- friends, going out, joining interest groups where other singles will be, etc. Most important -- use your instinct to weed out those weirdos and liars. Good Luck!

2 dates, one lasted a week, the other a month. But I believe you could meet someone in line at the 7-11....I guess the idea is not run after love, but let it find you. Trying too hard seems to backfire

It took several tries.. as does any dating process....

but I met my wife through Yahoo! personals.

Look at our website.. and if you click on the Wedding bells you can read our story along with the story of the wedding and honeymoon.

I found the love of my life online. But I also went through some dogs too!

I met my boyfriend through e-harmony. We have been together for 10 months now and we just moved in together. Of course, there are going to be weirdos and loser out there but I think that would happen no matter what aveue you take. I got lucky with this one. After our first date I knew I'd be cancelling my subscription! :)
