Hebrews 6:4-6, [4] "For in the case of those who have once been enlightened and have tasted of the heavenly gift and have been made partakers of the Holy Spirit, [5] and have tasted the good scripture and the powers of the age to come, [6] and then have fallen away, it is impossible to renew them again to repentance, since they crucify to themselves the Son of God, and put Him to open shame.

The Bible clearly teaches that a believer can lose his salvation.

2 Peter 2:20 For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.
21 For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.
22 But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.

Galatians 5:4 Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.

1 Corinthians 9:27 But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

You cannot lose or forfeit your salvation. Once saved, always saved. There are denominations, Christian and non-Christian, that claim that you can lose your salvation, but they misinterpret scripture. To say that you can lose your salvation is to call God a covenant breaker and a liar. This would make God no better than man. God cannot break his word. the scripture that you are referring to is written to believers in the church. It refers to breaking fellowship, not losing salvation. Fellowship with God can be broken through sin, but can be restored through confession and repentance. The people that the writer of Hebrews speaks of have backslid into the world, and thus have put Christ to shame through their shame. Many of these passages that appear to suggest that a believer can lose his salvation are difficult to interpret, but there are many passages that assure the believer of his eternal security. There are no contradictions in the Bible, just difficult passages to interpret. Jesus loves you.

I don't believe God would allow a believer to reach the point where they would throw away their salvation. Christ said that His Father had given the believer's to Him, and no one could pry them out of His hand. Being an omnipotnet being, when God forgives us for our sins, He forgives us for the future ones as well, because He is timeless and knows about all of our sins, past, present, and future. Why would He save an individual that He knew was going to lose their salvation later? A better translation would be that "If it were possible to lose your salvation, you could never be saved again, because Christ would have to come and die on the cross again". Christ sacrifice was enough the first time to cover all of our sins, there is no need for another.

Nope....It comes to the parable of the sower.. What kind of soil does the seed fall on.. If the hearer is good soil, he will never fall away..Those that fall on rocky soil, and other types only have a religious experience therefore they call themselves Christians but don't live it..Whenever temptation comes they fall away..

Do you suppose that someone like Abraham, Moses,, The Disciples could lose there salvation??? Once you know the truth you will be free indeed. The bible says those that don't believe in the son are condemmed already... Those that believe in the lord Jesus are saved.. Notice it doesn't say will be saved... It says are saved.. Therefore what God saves will always be...

Yes a believer can lose or forfeit his salvation. But not like you lose your car keys or something. You lose your salvation when you walk away from the grace of God. By deliberately allowing your lifestyle to be unchanged you are in a sense walking away from God's forgiveness.

Christans aren't perfect; they are forgiven.

Saw that on a bumper sticker. I pondered that and came to the conclusion- if Jesus can fogive me, I can forgive me too.

All to often we as Christians think that we can live up to God's standards since we have access to Christ through our surrender and access to the Holy Spirit's power through belief. However, this is not the case because of our shadows of doubt buried in our minds. The devil doesn't care about those he HAS, satan cares about those he does NOT have, and sits behind you and whispers into your mind even more doubt. Enough doubt, and you doubt you even belong to the Lord! Tricky little sh!t that devil, but don't beat yourself up, ask for forgiveness and trust Christ forgave you...then forgive yourself (or BELIEVE Christ forgave you; either way...your clean)

So, no, once you sell your soul to Christ...it's His.

No truly saved Christian can lose his salvation from a mere slip up. The term 'fallen away' carries the implication of willful rejection (otherwise, it would have been more specific to have said, "and then have sinned"). We are not expected to be perfect... but we are called to be. God knows we are unable to attain perfection, but that, by no means, means we aren't to set it as a goal and not strive towards it with all our hearts.

The Bible is not always talking about "salvation" as it were. The Bible often speaks in covenental terms. So one can be in the covenant and then out of it. From a practical standpoint, we might say that one has "lost their salvation." But the true recipients are known only, with 100% certainty anyway, to the Lord. So from God's perspective, He would say, "You never had salvation," especially since you don't really "have" salvation until you're dead. From our perspective you might say that he "lost" salvation. But of course, since you're not saved until death in terms of the application of "salvation," no.

Where do you find salvation in this verse? It's impossible to renew to repentance. Repentance and salvation are not the same thing. Unsaved people can repent, and saved people can repent, repentance is presented in the Bible to both. In other words you can't repent while you are crucifying Christ by sinning again.

Answer No, you can not lose your salvation, read what Jesus said - "I give on to my sheep eternal life and they shall never perish." If they perish they were never sheep.

Absolutely. Besides the verse you cited, also see Rom 11:22, among others.
