5 stone. Hmmm, the Special K diet works but not for large ammounts.
For that the best one is Slimming world. Its slower than most but its easy to stick to and its more of a way of living than a diet.
If your looking for quick then Cambridge diet (lighter life) is the way to go. Its a pure liquid diet for about 6 months. Mentally very very tough as you cannot eat, no treats, no nothing, if you do it will do more damage than ever before but its quick. Expect a stone a month or more.
It may seem expensive (about £35 a week for cambridge) but its actually cheaper than buying food. As you cannot eat or drink anyting but water and the special shakes/soups you spend nothing on food. But it is a diet you must stick to I cannot stress that enough. There are no rewards for doing well. Also when you finish you must come off over a period of months slowly phasing in food again, otherwise you will put it all back on as your metabolism has slowed down to the point its almost non-existant. It thinks your starvin (you are, your only giving your body 300 cals a day).
But I can vouch for them all, they all work. Cambridge to get the bulk off and the others to maintain.

I'm dieting at the moment, I've lost 64.5lbs, almost 5 stone. Its been hard, but has been quite quick due to the huge amounts of exercise I've been doing. 5 stone is quite alot, so I'd go to your doctors to check things over first. Best thing I find is support. A local diet group, or an online forum can really help. Good luck, email me if you want any help :)

Shall we do it together? I need to lose 4 stone and keep doing a bit. Losing the will to live as you so rightly say then putting it bck on again! Decent diet and loads of excercise is the only way unfortunately. Apart from the whizz idea but that just makes you moody!!!!! Keep smiling whatever!

The best diet for me was Slimmers World Diet. I have tries them all and they are ok for about a week then I normally give in. Slimmers World is quite easy as long as you put extra time aside to prepare your meals. I lost nearly 5 stone in 6 months on this diet and it always helps to go with a friend who also needs to fight the flab and make sure you go to the classes otherwise its easy to cheat yourself. Good Luck

There are no miracle diets to help you lose weight. Many diet plans are low enough in calories to achieve some weight loss, but any positive results come from the low calories, not any magic food. To lose weight, you must consume fewer calories than you expend, but we all know it is not that simple. It also takes motivation and determination. For instance, it only takes an excess of 10 calories per day to gain one pound per year. I will help you to loss weight, only if you really set your mind to do it and I promise, you will lose the weight. A gradual weight loss of 1 to 2 pounds per week is relatively safe and more likely to be maintained. Long term success will depend upon acquiring new and better habits of eating and exercise, maybe like walking a little each day. OK, this is your weight loss formula: 15 calories per pound =approximate daily energy needed to maintain present weight. To lose 1 pound per week:
1) Determine desired weight
2) Multiply desired weight x15
3)Subtract 500 (3500 cal, divided by seven days in one week)
4)Total=permitted daily calorie intake
Let's say your "desired" weight is 180, times that by 15 =2700 minus 500=2200 calories per day. ( that's how many calories you should consume a day.)
If you stay within your calorie range, you will reach your desired weight. Good luck! Personal fitness trainer, Cathy

7lbs at a time. Set realistic targets, about a month long. There are no miracles.
Do it with sensible exercise, plus a diet high in protein and low in carbohydrate and saturated fat.
Avoid white bread, pasta, rice and potatoes (replace starch in meals with veg such as cabbage). Snack on sliced lean ham or chicken breast (at least once you've had as much fruit as you can stand in one day). It sounds odd, but you'll find it fills you up a lot more than biscuits or sweets.

Hi, i dieted from 25 to 19 stone.
I stoped eating, and survived on water and fags, until i was hospitalised..
I would sugest you join a gym, and get a trainer, and a friend of a similar size to go with you.
I sugest, that you never, ever become motionless, or sit, apart from when you eat and sleap.
Drink loads of water, to fill yorself up.
Stand to watch tv, stand to use the computer.... do everyday things in away that will burn callories.
