I just broke up with my girlfriend a few months ago, and the all the comments that I received from sharing the experience was "Well you have some nerve!!!" (Ang kapal ng mukha mo!) I started wondering: "So it's ok for women to break up with men, but it's not when men break up with women?"

I know that's really stupid but women play hard to get a lot of the time and men naturally fall in love more easily. We always want what we cant have. So if a women broke up with a man it would be because she got tired of him. Vice versa it would be seen like the man thinking hes too good for her. Of course a break up can have lots of different reasons. Its sexist and wrong but women break up with men more then vice versa though that's changing. Frankly I have no time for girls who play hard to get. We should meet in the middle and love each other equally. Its not always the man's fault that's just sexist ignorance. Men are not small and sex minded and women don't rule the rule. It was men and it still sorta but that's changing and soon hopefully we will be equal.

You must be young. Take it from someone who is 40...EVERYTHING is the man's fault, everything. It always has been and always will be.
Case in point...A man in S.C. divorced his wife because she was an alcoholic and was violent towards him and the two kids. She refused to go to AA or get any sort of help. But when the divorce went to court, the WIFE was given custody of the kids, even though she was a violent alcoholic.
See? The man is always wrong, its just the way the courts see it. Think about it...whenever a couple breaks up, the ABSOLUTE first question is ALWAYS "what did HE do wrong?"

Everyone has equal break-up rights. Keep in mind, though, that most women generally have a support group of other women to commiserate with. I bet those are the people who have been giving you snide comments.

Keep in mind that they have only heard her side of the story, and forgive them their ignorance.

For the same reason as if a bunch o women go out to watch a group of male strippers its just a bit of fun if a bunch of guys go out to watch female strippers you are all a bunch of depraved perverts

Double standards sometimes, but it works both way as far as I'm concern. Your a grown up expect this reaction if you ask a question like this.

because women usually have a good reason to break up. men do it because something better came along, or they just want to be with their buddies.

It works both ways, girls get things said to them also. At least I know they do if they break up with any of my friends.

Maybe the people saying that stuff to you really likes the girl. I bet they would not say those things if they hated her.
