Why do people hum? Many people catch me humming ALL OF THE TIME!?

I can't seem to stop. I am trying, however I seem to do it at all times.

its like when ur bored and ur brain auto connect it to humming so u hum everytime ur bored.

it just happens, I whistle , sometimes not even sure what song it is, it just comes out, then somebody gets pissed because that song is in their head.
