Well the prerequisite is that you're either temporarily or permanently disabled. Then you have to fight your way through all of the bureaucratic red tape at your local Social Security office and wait up to six months to be approved.Best to get all of your medical records or appropriate HIPAA forms together before you go to the office as well as pay stubs etc. You'll obviously need a social security number.Using one of those attorneys that you see ads for is only going to result in losing some of your benefits to them.It is possible to get SSI while you're waiting to be approved as long as you can show medical proof that you're disabled. The idiot that askes whether you would rather sit on your butt should really shut up because some people have no choice.Do an internet search for your local Social Security office.

Well; you could run as fast as you can and ram your head into the wall causing irreversible brain damage. You could stick both your hands under a train and have them severed above the wrist. You could eat bonn bonns and potato chips until your so fat that you can't get out of bed and have to poop on yourself and lay in it until some poor social worker comes to hose you off. I don't know; I think any of these would work for you. Of course you could shift gears and think about how to get off disability and stop being a blood sucking leach on society? Just a thought.
