No. What gave you the impression they might be?
Surely you have seen photographs of the Ayatollahs in their demonstrations. Haven't you seen the statues of their leaders in Baghdad being torn down? Have there not been extracts from their news programmes denouncing the West's intervention? If these programmes were not for Muslim viewers, who were they for?
The Koran tells muslims to sing and make music to praise Allah. I could go on, but what's the point? Islam is another religion which receives a bad press just to suit certain political leaders with certain political ambitions.
I personally do not condone violence, mass murder etc, but lying in order to justify invading other countries cannot be condoned either.
Terrorism cannot be tolerated in any form, but neither can false propaganda which immediately puts people against people for no other reason than they have a different way of life.
Who has the right to dictate which way of life is better than another?
I think I'd better stop, I might sound as if I'm preaching.
By the way, I am Christian (as if it were important).

i've been asking the same questions to many practicing Muslims and the answers vary from one person to the other, but basically what they all agree about, just like practicing Christians & jews, is that anything in that list that brings you closer to remembring god and has a positive influence on you and your kids and society interms of modesty is not necessarily forbidden.
e.g. All the muslims tourists i see take pics.and eat in non Mslim restaurants, and in Britain alone ther's loads of Muslim newspapers, magazines, films, music, websites, singers etc...

Actually not all. There are some that are being accepted especially nowadays, that's why if you view the different predominantly Islamic countries, you'll see that practices differ. I don't personally know if this good but at least we are seeing a lot of changes towards democratization save some like Iran.

Some things in your list are banned & some are man made which is not there in the Quran or Sunnah

Art, including singing, has been expressed, valued, and respected throughout Islamic history without transgressing the moral teachings of Islam. While European art reveled at celebrating nudity, Muslim artists excelled in calligraphy and mosaic. While today's dancers gyrate seductively, the Prophet (peace be upon him) entertained Abyssinian spear dancers in his mosque. It was narrated by `A'ishah that during the days of `Eid, her father Abu Bakr came to her while there were two girls with her, beating drums, and the Prophet was lying down covered with his garment. Abu Bakr rebuked the two girls, but the Prophet uncovered his face and said, "O Abu Bakr! Leave them, for these are the days of `Eid." On another incident`A'ishah reported: I was being screened by the Prophet while I was watching the Abyssinians playing in the mosque. `Umar rebuked them, but the Prophet said, "Leave them, O Bani Arfida! Play. (for) you are safe" (Al-Bukhari)..

When `A'ishah attended a wedding in Madinah the Prophet (peace be upon him) asked her if there was any singing. When she replied in the negative, he commented, "Why not? The people of Madinah love to sing."

It was narrated by `A'ishah that when she prepared a lady as a bride for a man from the Ansar, the Prophet said, "O `A'isha! Haven't you got any amusement (during the marriage ceremony), as the Ansar like amusement?" (Al-Bukhari). Other narrations of this hadith show that the amusement intended here is singing.

The importance of expression is to glorify the truth, to share the perceptions of the heart, to inspire others, to generate a message — which for a Muslim is Islam. Just like art, literature, and drama, singing is just a form of expression.

Every invention has a good and bad side,
You can watch good programs and bad programes on TV , but as a muslim we are ordered to lower our gaze from forbidden so we should not see other ladies or mens body which lead to zina of eye, ear. So naturally a muslim should not watch such cinemas. The same applies to films, Cinema, night club, pub, sex pictures, vulgar words, songs, music
Reading newspaper is not forbidden. who said that?
Internt is not forbidden you can use it for the good and bad. It is clear for a muslim what are forbidden based on the above order from Allah to lower our gaze.

YES its true

basically, we are not meant to encourage the use of false idols eg, images of humans and living creatures
Also, we are not meant to encourage the use of alcohol and other things like this

Its not the fact that we arent allowed to use the internet, its only because when we use it, we look at images of humans, which is prohibited, but people still do it.

Music is prohibited because only percussion music is allowed and preaching of that religion - other types of music express vulnerability which you should only feel for God, not music.
