I think God is the maker of heaven and earth, he is the alpha and the omega. He gave us his son so we could go to heaven and be with him. God is the creator of me and of you...Whether you believe it or not...

God IS YOU! You are the creator in your own mind. You are the decsision maker in your life. You decide what is right and wrong for you. YOU! are your own GOD.
Every day I'm sure you go about your business, but what goes on in your head? Do you think 10,000 thoughts? Because I think most people are continuously thinking wether they like it or not. Learning about something they just did. Remembering what they had already learned from past experience. Deciding on some future outcome that hasn't happened yet, but might. Each day we all help to create a world around us. Each day we all remember the past and look to a future. In some way I think we all shape that future together, but view it separately. We all have this component within us that NO ONE can explain. It is called concsiousness. No one knows where it came from or how it really works. Maybe it is linked to the soul aspect, maybe it is the soul of life itself. Whatever it is, every single person shares it and is aware of not only themselves, but of every other living thing. Is that not Godlike? Your pet dog is not aware that the trees have a life, or that bugs are living creatures. But we are. Somewhere in the proccess of life we came to an awareness beyond our own physical being, we stepped outside the being, and saw that we were not alone in life, that instead we were surrounded by it on all sides and from every angle. Does that not seem a bit divine. And since we know this, and other life forms may not, is it not our responsability to try and preserve those forms of life as best we can? Just as a god would watch over his followers?
I could go on for a long time, but let's just say I don't believe that there is a spirit in the sky looking down on all of us. I believe that it looks OUT from all of us, and that we are each a piece of it's wonder and a part of the grand plan that we as a people have formed from ourselves, for ourselves. Wether that plan is good or leads to our destruction remains to be seen. But I believe it is within us and not separate from us.

An imaginary figment produced by primitive people who also happened to believe in the concepts of spontaneous generation (dirty rags decompose to form rats), firmament (a physical shell surrounding Earth, upon which the sun, moon, and stars were attached), and that the Earth was flat.
All reasonable presumptions when unable to comprehend or see the larger picture ... but when you have the opportunity to see the failings of your earlier beliefs and still cling to the "primitive" answers of those before you ... well, that's just silly ... and a rather ignorant.
These three erroneous beliefs were still widely accepted/believed until around 1500 years following the time of Christ.

The creator. He made us and everything that's in the earth...then he made contact. He gave us free will. We can chose what we believe. It's probably one of the hardest things to understand. We ask why so many times...we learn, we live...we all want the answers to the mysteries of life..our life, the meaning. I think in the end we must respect each other for what we believe in...we may not agree but we move forward in our own lives. I think we will all be surprised in the end. Our pastor nearly lost his life in an operation last year...he clinically died on the table for 15 minutes...he floated from his body and met God. He shared an unbelievable experience that changed his life and his message...God shared with him areas he was wrong in...and it changed him. He's not the type that just Say's nutty things..I believe him. He left a church of 8500 people and is starting a new Church with 7 members to do what God called him to do

I think God (if it exists) is a being that doesn't know why it exists or what it's purpose is. So in order to try and work it out it created the universe in the hope that something there would one day be able to fathom out why it was brought into being. Therefore the purpose of the Universe is to understand why it exists and then to understand why God exists.
Maybe.

The one & True God is the Eternal spirit, creator of all things, I see your question is ask with a small g for God, if we use a small g for god, it can be anything, to some satan is their god, to some their automobile is, But the one & true God is the creator of all things, The eternal spirit, that has no beginning nor ending, the one that sees all things & know all things. He is the God, highest amoung all gods. And with the True God, nothing could has existed.

God was a part of our evolutionary process. "God" was everything we didn't understand. God was an explaination for unexplainable phenomenon in ancient days. God was the 'big brother' watching over us concerning our morals so that homo-sapiens could co-exist.
Today, we should realize God is a superstition.
I evolved, did you?
Be good.

God is All That Is. There is nothing that is not God. You cannot look to the left and say "God is not here", then look to the right and say "God is over here."
God is the Creator and the giver of choice, not a judge and not an idiot. God communicates primarily through feeling, not words.

It's best to understand God by finding aboutthe Faiths that believe in this concept and see how each one understands God. I suggest you start with the monotheistic faiths ( believe in 1 and only God) that are Judaism, Christianity and Islam who believe in the same god but call god different names (Jeovah or Father/Christ or Allah)
