I am painting a mural in our church's nursery, for free, of course. But I now have a friend who wants me to paint a mural in a daughter's room. She has said to charge what I see fit. I don't know what to charge her. It will be a big mural, like 1/2 a wall size, hand painted. What is a good price?

depends on the details if it it just a simple mural with maybe just flowers and trees no insult intended also take in consideration if you are an artist the time that it would take.a small painting for the wall can run a person priced from 50 to thousands.
saying that it is for a friend 200.00 at least and she supplies the paint.

Ask your friend to supply the paints needed - or at least a monetary contribution if you already have loads of paints you can use, they aren't cheap, after all - and then set yourself an hourly rate (whatever you think is reasonable! maybe $10 per hour?) - and if you both want to feel extra good you can donate your fee to a nice charity!

I'd charge by the time it takes you to do it (assign an hourly rate for yourself) and of course the cost of supplies.
