I think that you're onto something here. I've put a link to the kind of science that can do it down in the sources section, a wonderful editorial by Daniel Gilbert about what we know about human behavior and war.

Psychologists know quite a bit about this kind of thing, and we do understand what it is about human nature that leads to war. The big question is not "why does this happen?" but the practical "how do we get people in general to understand these things and start behaving better?".

Certainly it wouldn't hurt us to give science a chance - heaven knows religion hasn't managed it. Most of the big moral questions of today are in the realm of science, and not religion, so the old notion that "science doesn't deal with morality, only religion can do that" is simply false. We mostly agree on the values - it's the nature of reality where we disagree.

Science doesn't explain the universe; science says we evolved from an ocean of inorganic elements.
God has given us the answer to OUR peace - Jesus Christ.
As for WORLD peace, He said there would be none until Christ comes back to rule.
Science has done nothing more than wisely (sometimes) applied God-given knowledge.

The answer isn't science or religion. The answer is GREED. Once there is NO MORE GREED then there would be world peace. Just think about it...most of the things that are wrong with the world is because man is GREEDY with money and more things. The more money one man can make the more others suffer.

i could say no. In maximum respects, faith is surely the preventor of violence and hatred in this international. without faith, we does no longer have the superb businesses for organic disaster alleviation, a peace regarding the afterlife, or the different advantages that come as a consequence of spirituality. the only time a conflict happens is while one team discriminates against yet another team. What desires to end, subsequently, isn't the believers, yet people who hate and discriminate. look on the KKK. before everything, many of their tirades have been on African human beings. even with the shown fact that, while interior the Twenties the circulate shifted fairly from the South to the Midwest, its contributors began to objective immigrants besides. Hate communities will continually objective some thing...eliminating the solid in this international won't in any respect get rid of the undesirable. it is going to purely enable it to dominate and thrive.

What makes you think science is the answer for world peace?

Science has been around for centuries. In that time, our wars have only become more frequent, not to mention more bloody.

And remember that the weapons used in these wars are developed by scientists in laboratories -- not priests and ministers in churches!

World peace has nothing to do with god, science or whatsoever. It has to do with how you treat others and how others treat you. It is how you react when you had done someone a favour and he returned you with something bad. Would you retaliate?
Well.. I think Science is a faculty of knowledge from academic bigots who hold strong views that it can resolve everything.

Hate to tell you this, but that has been tried, too. All through the 50s and 60s all about Science and Scientific discoveries and how science was going to make the world so much better, and guess what? It failed, too. Must be a human factor thing.

Your premise that science is the answer for world peace is flawed. Think about it. We have had an explosion of scientific advances in the last 100 years. Has this increase in science brought us peace?

It's not science but its application that can bring world peace, among other things. Science in and of itself is simply a method of observation. It's what we do with our observations that matters.
