In general, we always make mistakes. First one usually is to presume that we can avoid making them. All you can do is to admit that we all are but erring humans, and it's always possible that we make a mistake. And this applies to you, too. After you have truly accepted this, you may be able to treat your own theories more humbly and with due criticism.

The definition of religion is self-righteousness. In Isaiah 64, the prophet calls self-righteousness a filthy rag---a used tampon. Self-righteousness never saved anybody and it never makes for good spirituality. Christianity is not about what I think is right, but is a personal relationship with God in which he tells me what his truth is and what he wants me to do for him. We are servants of God, not the other way around. When we believe that God should fall down at our feet and worship us, it is then that pride takes over our lives and we begin to live for the devil. The devil is the creator of pride and God hates pride. If you want to avoid becoming a religious person, or as it it termed in modern times a Christian Pharisee, then shove your pride into your back pocket where it belongs and submit to God. Jesus says in John15:5"....without me ye can do nothing." You cannot go through life without making mistakes and without occasionally telling a lie---it is part of the human sin nature. You can reduce the occurrence of sin by keeping your focus on Christ and dedicating everything that you do to God. Life is tough, but it is this way because God wants us to learn valuable lessons that we will need in our next life in heaven. Trust Jesus. Jesus loves you.
