I homeschooled a couple of years ago, and decided to homeschool again this year (after a year in Catholic School).

I forget what i need to submit to my superintendant when I am withdrawing for the first time.

Does anyone know??

You only have to submit a intent to homeschool form with a outline of your intended curriculm and a list of what you plan on teaching them with. For example, internet, science channel, history channel, titles of books you plan on using ie: dictionary. This is not written in stone just an intent to use these items. Then at the end of the year you must send in a profile of the work your child did with graded work and how you graded the work.

If you would like you can look up and use an online charter school. You would not have to contact your school in Ohio if you use Buckeye Online because it is considered public school. They provide computers, all materials, and a choice of several online or distance learning schools. Both of my children use Buckeye Online. My 15 year old has an IEP because he is dyslexic and he goes to Missouri Online school. My 6 yr old uses Calvert Distance Learning. They have sent a computer for both children to use, they even reimburse you for PE classes and your local internet provider. All for FREE FREE FREE its what your tax dollars pay for. Check it out it will make your life much more easier because they even have their own teacher to walk you or them through any problem they or you might have. Teachers that believe in homeschooling...If you have any other questions please feel free to write me and ask away. Otherwise check out their site... http://www.go2boss.com/

Looks like you have two options in Ohio - establish a homeschool or establish a charter school.

Check out the HSLDA website. They also have a longer "Legal Analysis", if your interested.

A copy of your high school diploma or GED, previous grades for your child, a lesson plan for the year and any medical records you have. I always opted out of the medical and dental for religious reasons. Why do they need to know when he saw a dentist? LOL

Good luck!

[make sure you get it your general "I plan to homeschool" page notarized and keep copies for yourself]
