We are given such a large choice in our world. Unless we are in really impoverished circumstances. I think that, whatever hand we are dealt, we have to make the best, and most compassionate choices for that situation. If there are many incarnations, which seems more than likely, we will face tests of different types. Look at the "beauties" of the world or the Rose Hancocks. All end up sad, old, disillusioned, sick, etc. It all fades away. We have to do the right thing, and do it with an honest heart.Maybe the starving, infirm, and crippled are only at the beginning of our Journey. Or would it be the end? Perhaps lessons get tougher as we advance....maybe God has many faces, not just one strict concept, this Higher Power may recognise many beliefs if they are good hearted.. peace on your journey anyway....

Religion is all a matter of opinion. They all have the same basic fundamental outline:
There is a God/Gods
There were prophets who spoke the word of God/Gods, thus the basis of all 'holy' books.
There was usually one main important prophet, Jesus, Muhammad. Gandhi....
What do you notice?
They are all the same however all have different methods of worshipping. These methods have nothing to do with God but are the creation of man (general as in mankind. I'm not sexist). They are a persons interpratation of the 'holy books, hence the offshoots, jehovahs witnesses, orthodox , reformed...you get the idea.
What I am trying to explian is that, picking a religion isn't really going to help. Nowadays people use religion to do things in the name of 'god' for instance wars, attacking abortion clinics, terrorism. These people have taken the basics of religion and warped them. Even the catholic church is guilty. During the 13th century they burned all the jews at the stake!
Don't try and force yourself into a religion, let yourself find your own spiritual path. Learn and experience all you can whithout the restrictions and rules of religions holding you back. I'm not saying there isn't a God..there is. It's a life force in everyone, everything and it's always there. You just have to open yourself up to the world around you. Praying isn't necessary. Nor are rituals. Just living your life doing everything you want to do, letting nothing hold you back. Trust in what your soul is telling you, not the words of a man-made book.
The point is that we are here to learn. Learn how to open ourselves up.Learn all the experiences we can no matter how weird. To do whatever we feel like when we feel like it. In finding yourself and who YOU are as an individual (not what is expected or wanted) you will find God.
...I am NOT some whacked out cult leader!!..

Ask yourself very important questions.
Do you believe in God?
Do you believe in the Bible?
Do you want to draw close to God?
Then evaluate what Religion follows God best. I am one of Jehovah's Witnesses. I know in my heart of hearts that I have the true Religion. But then again you knew I feel that way. If you wish to sincerely learn about something do not take my or anyone else's word as the final decider. I know many lies and myths have been established about many faiths.
If you are intrigued by my faith I suggest you learn about us in one of two ways. Go to a Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. Your local Kingdom Hall should be listed in the phone book. Notice I did not say you have to attend a meeting. Just go to the Hall. Talk to a Witness. or wait until a Witness comes knocking on your door. If you have questions go ahead and ask, politely. If this is not an acceptable option then you can go to our official website http://www.wathctower.org The reason I suggest getting direct information is for that reason it is direct information. Not rumors, half truths or lies.

Excellent question, only one true doctrine. Research, pray and ask God to know the Truth. Look for the doctrine that rings most true to what you believe is true. The Holy Ghost will not lead you astray. God continues in the same patterns as He always has you will recognize the true church by the structure resembling that of old, revelation and miracles.

It's possible to learn much in life from the experiences of others. I don't have to experience everything myself to know a thing is harmful or helpful or true or false.
God says if you are seriously searching for him, you will find him.

Have you considered the possibility all faiths are wrong?
In everyday life, is faith a smart approach, or a stupid approach? Do you look before crossing the street or do you close your eyes and confidently walk forward knowing it's safe by faith?
If faith does not serve you in ordinary life, why would you even suspect it might have a place in any aspect of existence?

When you pray to God, ask him to help you to find the truth and if you are sincere in finding it, he will open up the way for you to gain accurate knowledge of the truth, just as the Bible tells us: "Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened." Matthew 7:7.8

Jehovah's Witnesses teach bible truth, so if you are a person who respects the bible then they are the logical religion.
