Horrible. We also have something called "tator tots" in the US, which are small frozen cylinders of grated potato. (About 1 cm diameter by 3 cm long.) The instructions on the package say you should bake them in the oven. Also horrible!
I have found they are pretty good if you fry them in a small bit of oil in a frying pan. Maybe the same process would work for frozen chips?

Personally I feel oven chips taste nice and yummy as long as you have the right spices to go with. They are much more crispier than the normal chips but they taste good.
Infact now you are making me hungry.

they aren't great I admit, but the chunky thick cut ones or steak chips are ok, and they taste better if deep fried. The McCain oven chips are ok, better than the skinny french fry style things!

I have never been able to cook them successfully.
They usually end up singed and rock hard.
So, I no longer buy them.
I do use microwave crinkle chips in boxes for the children as a treat occasionally.
(more like when I can't be ar@ed)!
You can't beat home made.

Yes, but don't cook them in the oven, they taste crap.
Deep fry them instead

Aren't they made from wood, or reconstituted bark chippings, some kind of MDF formula.
