Before 10 years the worst situation was not so hard compared to today. Every year, we see that from worst there is worser and that from hard there is harder. I know that there is harder than now but I do not want to see it.
From good there is always better but from bad there is always worse.
My dear friends, I have to explain to you something:
man can bear every situation. Man can go even throught hell. But I do not want to check such abilities of mine. I do not want to check how low I can go. I just want to protect myself.
You may say: "From the preacher of the Lotus Sutra we expect more that just complains and depression". However, I may say: "From the world I expected much more than condemnation and hatred".
When a tiny snowball on the hill turns to great ball of snow that can ruin much, things cannot change.
There is time things can change and times things cannot change.
I have prayed for days to change my karma. However, the things happened like in my worst nightmare. Why?

karma is a tricky thing. Not only do you need to practice it each and every day, you also may be paying karma for a previous life. Just stay positive and positive things will happen for you. Never give up.

I'm glad to see you're back with us, though I'm sorry you're still so shaky today.
Even if your situation looks reasonable on the outside - say you have food clothing and shelter and your mom is still alive - it is your internal life that matters most. Only you can change your attitude and feelings, if you want to. It's a mistake to expect other people to behave according to your high standards, and you will always be disappointed in them because they cannot come close to the standards you set for yourself. You're right about needing protection. You need to protect your inner self from your own judgmental nature. You are not getting sufficient "affirmation" from your surroundings, so you need to find ways to give it to yourself. Here is a virtual hug from me. I think you are very courageous and a wise and good person. Every day that I am on here, I look for your questions and sometimes answers. They are important to me.
I went through a horrible time in my first marriage, with an alcoholic husband and a chilk with severe epilepsy and one book gave me inspiration. It was "Papillon" by the French prisoner who had the most amazing life. After reading that I knew I could endure almost everything. My life got tougher immediately when my marriage broke up, my mother died and I had to "hold it together" for others. If you can, go buy this book, take it from a library or give me some address I can send you an English language copy to (by e-mail of course). Two other incredibly inspiring books I read were the one about Shackleton and another by Jacques Lusseyran - a blind fighter in the French resistance during WW2.

Frankly I love life and enjoy it, but even so I don't want to remain here, I am looking for a better home some day in Heaven with God. That is why Jesus came to earth to save us from this world of sin and take us to a better place. Its just temporary so see the best in it and rejoice in your hope of an eternal place where there isn't any tears or suffering.

We all go through bad cycles. My summer was like this, with deaths, loved ones in the hospital, money problems, etc. Now it seems to be getting better. I think we all hit rough patches now and again.

Not sure, but here's something you can say to bring a smile.

Tell her:

"So the last 10 years aren't as bad as you thought they were".

Why?
My friend, even when everything goes better and better, we should try for more, for higher, for being even happier!
Also, we (the few ones) have to surpass what are considered standard and define new levels and borders!

Things will continue to get worse. God says they will, and that's why he's coming back.

He makes a promise to give you extra strength to go through those hard times. Ask him for it.

Let go, change your view, pray fervently, and believe that you are free from all false beliefs. And pain, and disagreements. BELIEVE
Let go and forgive, from the heart! And see your prayers answered.
