I agree wholeheartedly with Marinersfan, who said:
"They just are ... we were probably the same when we were teenagers - although we didn't have all the stuff they do now - so apologise to your parents and grin and bear it!
You might want to re-examine your parenting skills too? lol - Even Supernanny would have her work cut out with teenagers!"
I said to my wife just the other day (while the 13 & 14 year-old 'bar stewards' were fighting between themselves for a change), "Have you noticed how you never see Supernanny trying to deal with teenagers... because she wouldn't be able to?!"
Their hormones are surging around their bodies, but their brains still operate as those of children, that is, solely on a selfish and emotional basis - through no fault of their own, they are simply unable to see the world through the eyes of anyone else who is older and more experienced.
What I want to know is, at what age do they start acting like adults?!
Oh yes, the 'number of parents' is completely irrelevant.

I'm a teen and I'm not a little bastard so I found that insulting. And if you were ever a teen you will of heard of something called hormones. Anyway just beacause you have two parents doesn't mean you are automatically happy.

Not all teenagers are. I have 2 teenage boys and can honestly say that I am extremely proud of both of them and we have a great relationship. I give them both respect and in return I get the utmost respect back. Oh and my kids dont have 2 parents they have an **** of an alcoholic father and me their mum. They have been through a lot in their lives and still turned out ok.

In many cases... parents of today try to keep up with the Jonses and both work. Out of guilt for not spending time with their kids, they give them anything and everything they want and both groups are materialistic... parents DON'T parent. SO... when the little bastards don't get their way, they scream and rant/rave until they get it. This is why they talk back to parents and teachers and generally have no respect for anyone... because their parents let them get away with it!

Dear Leigh,
Teens are in one of the most formative sets of years in terms of personality and self - in other words, they are seeking to define themselves as a unique person, separate and apart from their parents. This, I think, is what parents usually define as the rebellion years. I am sure there are some worthwhile books out there to read / look into on the subject.

because people like you are calling them bastards!! so many people judge teens and rate them as trouble makers etc but give them a chance there only learning of wat dey see in everyday life it doesnt mean there is no good in them its a phase they will grow out of it not al are bad, but if people like u keep branding them like this thats who they will become, u are lowering there confidence and hopes
