just love him. I have one too, and have been told it's all my fault, but I know the difference - I've had some brilliant dogs. But I've found that he's so lovable, and he does show sense every once in a while, that if I just accept him as he is, I'm not bothered by his I.Q. Good luck.

There is no "stupid" dog, only stupid trainers. Take him to obedience class or read a book. Dogs are labeled stupid when their owners can't get them to learn. All dogs, however, are capable of learning when taught correctly. Obedience classes help more than books because there's actually someone there to tell you what you're doing right or wrong. You'll have him trained in no time. Good luck!
(PS: I actually had a certifiably retarded dog once. I mean, actually clinically retarded, he really had a brain condition. All dogs can be trained if their owners will just do it properly!!)

I have found that in most cases... it's the owner! There are a few breeds out there that do not train well but again... that's the owners fault for buying that breed without researching it.
I love those idiots that purchase a dog because they think the breed is "cute". My friends bought a Bulldog... because they thought they were cute. Glad it's not my problem, lol! Do you have any idea how many Dalmations were put to death in this country because all those stupid humans that bought their kid one after 101 Dalmations movie came out... then realized how dumb the breed was... didn't want the responsibility anymore so they dropped them off at shelters... thousands!

All dogs act stupid sometimes. My dog will often stick his head in the sofa cushion and won't come out, yet he is still smart enough to know if a person is drowning and will actually jump in the water to save you. If your dog has a lot of black areas in his or her mouth, he or she aren't really stupid at all.

Go to petsmart or petco they got these training classes that really help out! Plus you can learn so much that you never knew before about your dog! Great bonding experience.

spend time with it, and let it know that you love it. cuddles. walks try training with food as treats when it sits, stays, etc. never ever yell or hurt it because animals don't understand as above you need to use positive reinforcing. if you can't do it try going to obedience school, or if it is too much perhaps find him a new home. good luck :)!

Stupid in whose eyes? There are reasons for the way animals act. Us stupid people just have to figure them out.

If you can't love him regardless, find him another owner who will.
