No. I've had drills get hot and wondered the same thing. The only thing that cooled them off was letting them rest for a while.

No. The drill machine gets hot because it spins fast, and letting the motor go without a drill will make it go even faster. It's a powertool, and was designed to remove heat mfrom the motor by transporting it to to surface of the machine. If you're worried it's too hot, just let it rest for 15 minutes or so, and it should be fine.

Most drills have an inbuilt fan. It you are doing a lot of drill into a hard substance, then you should let it cool for about 10 minutes before using it.
If the grip itself is getting hot, then you may be overloading it.

As pathfinder said, running it on no load should help cool it down, it is better to do that as it disperses the heat more evenly than just stopping it. However, you may be overloading it or it may have a fault if it is getting too hot.
It's speed is linked to the frequency of the mains, therefore it can't overspeed.

Yes ,it has a fan but I usually let my aeg drill cool by itself, i have used it hard for more than 25years and it has never failed me
