My hair is medium (right past my shoulders) and its heavier at the bottom. I have baby hair that are TIGHT TIGHT curls, which i normally straighten. My hair is also very dry even though i rarely use hot tools. ONE MORE THING i must add that i couldn't fit in the question section is that when it air dries, it not only becomes poofy but its looses all those shapely waves. It just becomes a big fat blob. Help would be much appreciated!!!

TRY A LEAVE IN CONDITIONER OR SOME FRIZZ EASE SERUM.

Go to your local hairdresser for some advice. My family runs a hair salon so I might be able to offer you some. Go to the store and buy some shampoo or conditioner that is for dry hair. Use that regularly. Get some for unruly hair. Dont straighten or curl your hair with an iron. If you want curls during the day or it to be straight there shampoos made for that and most of them work. When you get out of the shower brush your hair and then put gloss drops in it while it is still damp that way your hair will be less frizzy and it will also SHINE. Dont use too much though because that will give your hair a greasy look. Maybe a new haircut, nothing dramatic, but layers could help with the poof.... even thinning the hair out.

invest in better shampoos and conditioners. Redken, makes alot of products for curly hair and since curly hair needs more moisture you should get a conditioning treatment (Redken's Butter Treat) about 3 times a month to start and as your hair gets better you should only need it once a month after that. also besides Redken, your local salon should have specific products for curly hair.
do not use protein based products these are for strengthening, only if your hair is breaking off
pantene tends to build up on the hair and frizz ease will not help with the dryness-it will only hide the problem instead of making it better

if you do happen to use any hot tools you should be using a heat protectant- Matrix Iron Smoother or Arosci 7 Day Straightening Lotion should work (be careful not to put this one directly on the scalp-makes scalp look greasy)
hope this helps good luck

same here! after my curly perm hair is dried, it becomes puffy dry blob. I put hair cream for curly hair on everytime I go out.
A lot of brands do Hair Cream for curly hair, for example, Patene.

You'll need to use it on damp hair (not dripping), otherwise not effective. It will make some of your strand of curls hard. The wetter your hair, the harder the strand. The look of the hair will be soft, although you can feel hard for some curls because it's not a dramatic crunchy curly hair, which you don't want. Make sure you apply the cream on all strands of curls well and leave your hair after applying. Your hair will look more natural when it's completely dry.

You can have a try. It's not that expensive.

Frizz Ease serum. the stuff is kinda pricey, but for someone that has natural curl and waves like i do, that stuff worked pretty well. (there are some other things like, leave in conditioner that might work for you as well.)

There are plenty of products out there to fix this ,"Pantene is 1 of them. The trick is to apply a moisturizer to hair while it's still wet.
