Doing crunches doesn't make you're stomach lose fat content, it firms up the muscle - this gives you the appearance of not losing fat from around the stomach as the muscle pushes the fat out., but you are. You cannot "target" where you lose fat from, you lose fat at the same level from all over your body. This just means it'll take a bit longer before you see the fat dissapear from the stomach area, but don't worry, as long as you do lots of cardio and eat healthily it will go.

Well first of all you don't do that many crunches a day. You do them every other day and you stop when you feel tired. If not so, your muscles are tired and do not respond properly. Maybe u do too much cardio. 5 times a week is enough, and not more that your body can handle. If your diet includes cereals and you happen to get fat from them, well it could be a cause. I don't wann adiss, but it took me 2 years of sustained workout to get loose the tummy.

One tip would be to limit your crunches to every other day. Working muscles everyday can cause them to get soft. Work them 3 times a week like any other muscle. Work them until they burn and you can't do any more. Remember to that there are multiple regions to your abs and multiple layers. Do different excercises for the different sections (upper, middle, lower, obliques and transverse).
Also, sleep is an important part in losing belly fat. Try to get a good 6-8 hours a night in.
