I agree! I can hardly understand what people are asking!
I'll chalk it up to a lot of askers and answerers being very young and not realizing that typing is just like writing; a form of communication. Abbreviations look bad, often translate poorly and doesn't make sense at all, and sorry to say, makes the person look ignorant. I think maybe they think it makes them look cool? I don't know.
Now of course, if the person typing is using english as a second language, of course I'm more tolerant, because they may not yet know proper spelling and grammar (since English is the most screwed up language to learn), however, people who speak english as one of their first languages have no excuse.

That really is a hindrance to those that do not speak English when so many people use short forms or sounds like for the real word. I do have a bad habit of writing ppl for people but most of the words i try to type out the whole word. We all have our pet peeves.

First, I agree with people who corrected you for "Why are here..." and "As one whom..." I know what you meant with "here" but that's the problem with us - people WHOSE native language isn't English. :-)
I totally agree with you about spelling. I don't know what else to say. I suppose the best thing for us to do is to try to improve our own English and to let them speak the way they want to.

Well I don't know where are you from, but, here in Spain, we use to do the same, so I can't complain with that, for example, most of us don't write 'por que' but we write 'xq' or 'para' which is 'xa', I know is disturbing but it also helps you to know more about the real way of life of a country. All those things are part of our culture now...

I understand exactly what you mean. As an editor and a writer, it drives me crazy that people are in too big of a rush to make sure that others can understand what they're saying!

They are in a hurry and dont use the spell check.
Now dont ask then why they are replying. Its just because they want to earn more and more points.

It really bothers me also. Even when I see a typo in a book I want to call and complain. Your typo and wrong usage of words is bothering me now. . . .

I agree that it is frustrating, but look at your fourth word. I think you wanted to type "there" not "here"
