Someone asked me what I felt when it happens to me - I feel sorry for them, but I also find it annoying to have to say no and then see them afterwards.

I just get scared and don't talk to them anymore. Until years later when I meet them again and they have a gorgeous wife, own house, car and motorbike and very charming.... but then I meet his brother who's even hotter and sooo sexy and yet the gorgeous wife likes him too and tries to have an affair with him, which goes wrong then they get a divorce and I end up with the guy who asked me out years ago.
The strange thing is, this actually happened (well, I changed a few of the details to hide the people's identities).

It would depend on the behavior of the man. As long as he was RESPECTFUL of my decision not to date him and continued to act as a platonic friend or acquaintance, I would feel neither pity nor contempt for him. However, any man who could not accept the truth, or who was damaged by hearing the truth would be pitied because that person would be likely to get hurt every time he experienced that kind of rejection with anyone. If he continued to try to force himself into a "dating scene" where he was not wanted, he would be a nuisance and for that reason, he could become an object of great contempt.

I think it is sweet and a nice compliment. But some guys go overboard and do not take no for an answer, and stalk the woman. That is wrong.I haven't felt pity or contempt. How would you answer the same questions if the roles where reversed?

Neither, it's one of the down sides of being good looking. I don't like it if they pester though, if you don't fancy someone you don't, and that will never change. So I would rather they look else where and get the hint.

Neither - why should I. Isn't is a compliment when a man fancies you - even if it is not reciprocated. Ever fancied someone yourself who didn't like you - not nice is it!

If you don't want to date with a man you don't think at him at all, but if you accidentaly do it is surely contempt.

Neither. It's a compliment when someone fancies you. However, unwanted attention is not appreciated, so if I don't fancy someone, I don't want them to keep trying-- that gets annoying.

It's a compliment and I would say so, but I would certainly also say that I wasn't interested and that it was not because of any fault in them.
