Not sure.
What other bits can you eat? I used to eat the skin that peeled off after sunburn. Tasty AND crispy!

Your definition of cannibalism is correct, although the point to it is that cannibals eat human flesh as a meal or feast or something like that. Biting excess skin like tips of the fingernails or scabs don't count.

Flesh: The soft tissue of the body of a vertebrate, covering the bones and consisting mainly of skeletal muscle and fat.

although one definition also says:"The surface or skin of the human body" i think that one would actually have to knowingly eat the flesh of another human being for the primary purpose of sustenance and nutrition etc.
A bad habit like biting ones fingers i dont believe should carry any merit in answering your question.

I believe it does make you a cannibal.
But the question I ask you, is why eat your own fingers when you can eat the fingers of somebody else? When eating your own fingers you have to take your health into consideration. How can you expect to type on a keyboard if you snacked down on your right index finger the night before. Have you ever tried to type with a stump? Its hard. So... Keep a supply of victims in your freezer, take a couple of fresh fingers to work as a snack each day to preserve your precious digits. I do.
And scabs? Try marmite instead. Healthier, and thick enough to seal leaking arteries of a fresh kill. Goes down a treat with a nice Chianti.....F-f-f-f-f-f-f-f-f.

You're not eating flesh, are you? Anyway, I thought it's the eating of flesh that makes a person a cannibal?

Awh bless, you sound genuinely worried about this! If it was proved that you were a cannibal for eating whatever parts of yourself that you like to eat, then Im sure that you wont suddenly turn round and start eating other people. So I wouldn't worry....

Seems like you have a mild form of OCD not cannibalism...most people give up doing things like that as children.
