I have always had a curious desire to do this when ever I have seen roadkill. My landlord says that its not right, although there is nothing in my contract which says I cant. My landlord is a Gemmini-dont know if that helps.

Well, if you do indeed have a tenancy, you can do anything you wish to on the property (besides illegal activities of course) as long as it is not prohibited by the tenancy agreement.

As a tenant, you are regarded as having exclusive possession of the property for the duration of which you have rented it. This means that during this period, you can exclude anyone from the property - even your landlord - if you so desire; and it is quite irrelevant if it is the landlord's 'property' as someone put it above.

Therefore, in theory, your landlord cannot object to your wishing to stuff little fluffy animals for whatever odd reason you have for doing so. In reality though, it really depends on what sort of tenancy you have.

If you have a short periodical tenancy, the landlord can simply serve you with a notice to terminate the tenancy and you will have to resort to other premises for all your taxidermic needs!

God, I am bored.

P.S. Left-handed ginger people deserve to be shot.

Ah well if he's a Gemini that means that he is able to tell you to stuff your roadkill where the sun dont shine.
Of course if he had been a Aries that would of been ok.
On the other hand, why are there so many idiotic numbskulls who think that a persons star sign has anything at all to do with what they will and will not allow to happen on their property.

I think your the nutter. And if you rented from me I would probably say that after next month I didnt want you at all.

yeah, he is justified, if i was your landlord i wouldn't want all the dead animal juices and everything else getting all over the place. Not to mention the fact that he will never get the smell out of the place you are renting. Also, dead animals attract other scavengers and bugs, he will have to spend money to get the place de-bugged and fumigated. Next time you see road kill just park your car and drag it off the road and do whatever it is that you do with it out in the open.

Taxidermy needs a decent laboratory, specialist equipment, many noxious chemicals and adequate facilities for getting of rid of Fido's internals. I doubt you could do it in your kitchen safely, let alone purchase all the chemicals without a license. Aside from that, as previous poster said, it is his property, abide by his rules - and I must admit it made me laugh when you said that it wasn't in your contract. I assume "no murdering people on the premises" was? :)

His star sign's got absolutely noting to do with it.

How hygenic is taxidermy? when you stuff it, where does it's internal organs go? These are the sort of questions you need to answer. If you don't have a great answer for all of these types of question, then read your contract properly and perhaps seek a lawyer's assistance.

Does your tenancy contract state... " No Pets " ? lol. :P

Seriously though, it's a morals thing.. It isn't your "average" hobby/activity, so isn't likely to appear in any tenancy contract.

At the end of the day, what he says goes, if you're not happy with it, then it would be best to find another property to rent.

....or, just do it anyway on the quiet (just don't bring back anything large like a Deer or Badger, that could arouse suspicion! :)

Even though it's not in your contract, the landlord has
the final say over the room.
