If you bought it from a dealer,,,the lemon laws DO still apply,,,even if you bought the car "as is",,,,if they failed to tell you about any problems with the car,,it is considered "false representation",,and is against the law...before too much time goes by,,take it to a mechanic,,,get a written estimate(usually free),,,and go back to the dealer you bought it from. explain to them that you were NOT informed of this problem with the car and you would like for them to rectify the situation,,,,either with another vehicle ,,or a full refund,,,,If they fail to comply,,,,call a lawyer,,,they will give you free advice on what recourse you have,,,,,,good luck

I don't know how much recall you would have, I would simply go to the dealer and diplomatically talk with them. Otherwise It could be that the lifters are sticking because the oil is too thick - try a low viscosity oil, like a 5-40W.
