Example the Pharoah, this man pray to stone. He is so smart, but unfaithfully pray to THE WRONG ONE.

How can we become intelligent and choose the right religion? I mean smart with everything and we don't have weaknesess?

Can we consider Pharoah as smart man eventhought he chose wrong religion?

You are so right. The problem lies in an interesting paradox. The weak man knows he needs God, and finds Him. The strong one feels that he is capable of 'doing it himself', and so relies upon himself only.

In this, the weak man is truly the strong one, since he has God's infinite strength on his side, and the strong man is truly the weak one since he has no one to turn to but himself.

The same with Pharoah. He was a smart man, but his intelligence, his power, his pride, hardened his heart, and he stayed with his gods of stone. So Moses, an old man with naught but a staff and a LOT of people behind him, was more powerful and more intelligent than Pharoah, for God was on *his* side.

What is the difference between Pharoah and Moses? Pride. Pride in relying on the oft-fallible power of man, instead of the joy of taking comfort in the infallible power of God.

And such as it is today. So many scientists believe that science is all-powerful, all-knowing, and place their pride in it. This pride hardens their heart, causing them to reject God.

There is nothing wrong with being intelligent, or strong, or whatever and trusting in God. But it is pride that seperates the man from the Maker.

EDIT: I rest my case on the pride issue, after looking at all these posts above me... they completely proved my point.

You can't become intelligent, it's something you're born with. It's what you do with the intelligence that you have that determines how much you know. You can be the smartest person in the world, but if you don't educate yourself, you will never amount to anything.

That being said, i suggest you educate yourself on the world's religions. Learn them as if you were considering conversion (including your own). Only by exposing yourself to alternative viewpoints can you determine if the one you choose is the one that's best for you.

If you only view life from one perspective, you run the risk of assuming that your worldview is the only true "correct" one, due to lack of alternatives in your mind.

Addendum: Read the bible, seraphim. It was God that hardened Pharoah's heart "so that my wonders in Egypt may be multiplied." i.e. god made pharoah deny moses so that God could visit atrocities on the egyptians, pharoah didn't have a choice in the matter.

I love the juxtaposition of the words "intelligent" and "religion".
A classic oxymoron, if ever there was one.

Look puddinhead, there is no such thing as a "wrong religion." There is "my religion" and "your religion" and frankly, even in the same congregation/community, never the twain shall meet.

You may think you have the "same" religion as the fellow sitting next to you at worship, but you'd be wrong, at least in some detail. Like the answer to the question, "What does god look like?"

Bottom line here, and not to belabor a point you are unlikely to comprehend, Pharoah (that poor, inbred son of a crocodile) was as smart or stupid as he was. His belief in a particular pantheon of Skydaddies and Skymommas, while evidently different from your own, was no more evidence of his intellectual capacity than of his shoe size.

properly, i actually examine all of it, you could supply me some credit for that! So now I have an account of a Christians standpoint, i imagine this is in ordinary words honest to grant you my atheist standpoint about what you've stated. The unusual reviews you stated look unexplainable. i'm not even going to commence to target to describe them as i wasn't even there on the time, even with the undeniable fact that from an atheist's standpoint, it type of feels irrational to apply something even extra illogical to describe something. you could not imagine how technically a tumor can disappear, yet you answer it with 'god did it' which then creates even extra questions. as an get mutually, how did he bodily get rid of a tumor? the position did the tumor flow? Why would he choose to get rid of a tumor from in ordinary words this individual even as there are 1000's of different human beings also demise from having a tumor? human beings watch magic shows for all time with unexplainable issues yet no individual claims that god could were behind it. And the distinction between documented technology and the bible is that the bible is many 1000's of years previous, and this is been translated many situations in a lot of languages. technology even with the undeniable fact that has been tried and examined persistently. A scientist will frequently spend his or her entire existence attempting to teach their own concept incorrect, as will many different scientists. is fairly, the technology and heritage of immediately are a lot extra good for giving most suitable advice that the bible. on the right you requested does everybody sense a similar way, and that i need to say certain. i think annoyed that persons shy away technology and position self belief in something thoroughly illogical. yet on the right of the day i understand that this is in ordinary words my own opinion. see you later as different's beliefs do not dictate the way i stay, then i'm satisfied to settle for them. i assume that persons could purely comply with disagree.

Just out of curiousity, how do you define a religion as right or wrong. Who's to say the stone was not another aspect of the same god?

Who's to say the stone wasn't a comet or meteor that the pharoah believed came from god?

what religion actually believes and follows its own rules to the letter? That is what I would be more likely to refer to as a "right" religion

As long as something in your religion is taboo, you have people willing to break it. Just to find out -Why- its taboo. Its human nature.

And thats the thing about religion, its used by humans to make them feel superior.

who says you have the RIGHT religeon?

...maybe he's intelligent because he's not influenced with beliefs that should be pressured into people.

I don't walk around stating MY religeon is better than yours!

Have some respect, and trust in people in the good they have, NOT the religeon that does not suit yours.

Here is an anwer I gave to someone recently:

There are many problems in dealing with this type question my friend, because the scriptures make it clear that it is the nature of man to seduce and to be seduced by false doctrines. If you read the first 9 Chapters of Proverbs, you will find that there are three women contending for the hearts and minds of men. The two women, the harlot and foolishness both look for and seduce the simple, and the end of their purpose is destruction and there are many who have been destroyed by them - even of those men mighty. God, through the scriptures has always made it clear that it is the nature of man to love falsehood. During and after the writing of the Holy Scriptures, His own people, Israel, and others have often perverted the use and meaning of the scriptures to suit their own evil purposes. This has always been the case throughout history. And, there are always willing people who will run after false teachers and their evil doctrines - as it is so today. Also, the scriptures make it clear that truth is never enough to persuade any particular person to turn to it. The Old and New Testaments are filled with the accounts of those who had turned from the truth, even when it was shown to them directly by God. You, my friend, are fighting against the corruption of human nature! If you read the last two or three chapters of Revelation, Christ Himself makes it clear that the majority of mankind will be cast into hell because they have no love for the truth! This is further testified of by the Apostle Paul who correctly stated that - the "carnal mind is enmity against God"! Don´t you see it when you look around you? Why is it that fascists still claim that the holocaust never happened? Or, why is it that idol worshippers still bow down to objects of wood, metal and stone, despite what common sense and their own eyes should tell them? Or, why do Lawyers in court cases often sell to juries distorted interpretations of an incident in order to obtain a conviction? This is why, when you read Proverbs, Solomon tells you himself that we should - buy the truth and sell it not 23:23! In 2 Thessalonians, the scriptures make it clear again that when the Anti-Christ is revealed, those who have no love for the truth will believe in him (except for the elect). I have also found it to be so with J.W.´s (Witnesses) and other false or pseudo-Christian faiths, especially when confronted with undisputable truth, who still refuse to turn from their evil ways. So, therefore my friend, do not worry so much about your friend, she has her own soul to care for, worry about yourself!

The wisdom of man doesn't compare with the wisdom of God. Pharoah might have been smart but not wise. God is Righteous so He is right but He is Love. Always remember God is Love and you won't get confused about Him.

What do you mean: wrong religion? there is no right or wrong religion. On what basis do you allow yourself to judge others beleifs and say that your choice is "right" and theirs wrong. Actions associated to religion such as sacrifice or other deeds can be considered morally reprehensible to some, but again its a question of judgment. Religion in itself sets moral values. There is no such thing as right or wrong in the absolute.

Just let everyone make their dam choice and have their own beleif as long as they dont come ringing to your doorsteps.

There is no One True Faith that makes all others False. The human spirit is universal, so any religion is fine. Your faith is not the only right one. That is what cults believe. Is your faith a cult? Probably.
