Here is an answer a gave to someone some time ago:
There are many problems in dealing with this type question my friend, because the scriptures make it clear that it is the nature of man to seduce and to be seduced by false doctrines. If you read the first 9 Chapters of Proverbs, you will find that there are three women contending for the hearts and minds of men. The two women, the harlot and foolishness both look for and seduce the simple, and the end of their purpose is destruction and there are many who have been destroyed by them - even of those men mighty. God, through the scriptures has always made it clear that it is the nature of man to love falsehood. During and after the writing of the Holy Scriptures, His own people, Israel, and others have often perverted the use and meaning of the scriptures to suit their own evil purposes. This has always been the case throughout history. And, there are always willing people who will run after false teachers and their evil doctrines - as it is so today. Also, the scriptures make it clear that truth is never enough to persuade any particular person to turn to it. The Old and New Testaments are filled with the accounts of those who had turned from the truth, even when it was shown to them directly by God. You, my friend, are fighting against the corruption of human nature! If you read the last two or three chapters of Revelation, Christ Himself makes it clear that the majority of mankind will be cast into hell because they have no love for the truth! This is further testified of by the Apostle Paul who correctly stated that - the "carnal mind is enmity against God"! Don´t you see it when you look around you? Why is it that fascists still claim that the holocaust never happened? Or, why is it that idol worshippers still bow down to objects of wood, metal and stone, despite what common sense and their own eyes should tell them? Or, why do Lawyers in court cases often sell to juries distorted interpretations of an incident in order to obtain a conviction? This is why, when you read Proverbs, Solomon tells you himself that we should - buy the truth and sell it not 23:23! In 2 Thessalonians, the scriptures make it clear again that when the Anti-Christ is revealed, those who have no love for the truth will believe in him (except for the elect). I have also found it to be so with J.W.´s (Witnesses) and other false or pseudo-Christian faiths, especially when confronted with undisputable truth, who still refuse to turn from their evil ways. So, therefore my friend, do not worry so much about your friend, she has her own soul to care for, worry about yourself!

There are so many diverse believers in "Christianity" that you'll never be able to agree on one "right" definition. The best you can do is that everyone follows a definition that suits themselves, that's "right" for them.
Me, personally, I go with the Merriam-Webster online dictionary definition of Christian: "one who professes a belief in Jesus Christ and his teachings."

Depending on which person you ask. Opinions will differ among different people. Which is why I'm an atheist.

To themselves it is - to others it may not be. Either way, if you're referring to your own beliefs, the mere fact that they are your beliefs makes them right to you, doesn't it?
Your beliefs may not appear "right" to another, but they do to you.
