M+S say US dollars, a few guys who've been there say Fijiian dollars

US Dollars, Fiji Dollar, Australian Dollar and British Pound are fine if you bring to Fiji as travellers cheque. For Cash, Fiji Dollar is the best as it is the official currency in Fiji. US Dollar is fine, but you have to exchange your money at bank, so as you will loose some cash during every transaction you made. Not much place in Fiji can accept foreign currencies.

The Fijian dollar is the basic unit of currency, available in denominations of $2, $5, $10, $20, $50. Coins: 1c, 2c, 5c, 10c, 20c, 50c and $1. There is no limit to the amount of money to be brought in. Visitors are allowed to take out currency up to the amount imported.
All banks and most hotels will exchange foreign notes and travellers cheques. Exchange rates vary little and are published daily in the newspapers. Personally I'd take US$. Exchange rate is approximately Fijian$ 2.00 : US$ 1.00

You'll have the opportunity to exchange there if the US Dollar is difficult to exchange. Save yourself some time and wait, you probably will be able to keep most of your money in USD. It would probably be wise to get a couple of hundred Fiji Dollars upon arrival for spending cash in local stores, etc.

You have to change your currency once there.
It is the Fiji dollar.

Only way to get fijian money would be in fiji..so there for you must bring u.s. money then visit a currency exchange place. Good luck.
