The best medicine to quit drinking is to contact your locall AA quarters and they can refer you to a meeting. The meetings are free and you will be able to meet people who care about you and will help you however they can to quit drinking. They can relate to whatever you tell them mainly because they have all been there before. If you are looking for medicine, they have always had antabuse, although that also has proven to have bad effects on your liver. They just released a new one although I don't know the name of it, you could ask your docotr about it though. Good luck!

depending upon your drinking habits/if it was daily you should go to a detox/because coming off alcohol can be very serious and you must have medical supervision. Then follow up with an open aa meeting which you will be introduced to in detox and follow their suggestions. But first get sober with medical help/it is hard but it's all about willing to get sober GOOD LUCK

I don't drink alchohal. The concept I followed was, I would tell my self that i will drink it next time. This way I was neither drinking nor denying myself. It has worked so far. Same is the case for smoking.

However I must honestly confess that I do take an occasional beer (maybe once in six months). Guess that is not bad.

A bullet. I have not met anybody that truly can lose the desire to drink once they go over the edge to where they need to.
The want is always there, and even if they stop, iot changes their attitude and anger management abilities, so that is neither fun nor safe to be around. the person is screwed either way.
Sad, but true.
So many lives are effected by a heavy drinker.
