this would be a pretty formal request to be used not with friends but with strangers and translate to something like: I know that you are very busy but I would appreciate if you could answer me as soon as possible. Thank you very much.
If you need something for a friend:
Mir ist klar, dass Du gerade sehr beschaeftigt bist, aber koenntest Du mir bitte irgendein Lebenszeichen geben? Egal was Du schreibst, solange ich von Dir etwas hoere.
(I am aware that you are very busy right now, but could you write me to show that you are still alive? I don't care what about as long as I hear from you)

Grumpy did a very good job! But... if you know the person closer, you wouldn't use "Sie" I use "Sie", when I talk to my boss, to a stanger on the street... I use "Du" to my friends, family, the most of the working-colleague. The younger ones in german (at School, at University) use the whole time the "Du" if both are merely the same age.....
So... I would say:
Ich weiss, dass du sehr beschaeftigt bist, trotzdem moechte ich dich fragen, ob du nicht zurueck schreiben koenntest. Was immer du moechtest, ganz egal was.
