How much is Steven Gerrard worth? £20m? Frank Lampard, what's he worth? The same? Michael Carrick signed for Manchester United for £15m.
So what price does that put on the head of Stilian Petrov? £6m if you read the press these days.
Established player at Champions League level with more than a few goals there(just like Gerrard and Lampard), veteran of a European final(unlike Lampard), captain of his country and holder of more than a few winners medals.
Given all that, don't you think Petrov is maybe worth more than £10 million?

Is any footballer worth any of these amounts of money? It has gotten back to the truly obscene levels where one player is worth as much money as would build a hospital wing and then staff it.
Having said all that anything is worth what someone will pay for it......Petrov is at a disadvantage with Celtic being in the SPL....as you have quoted he has lots of European and International experience and if he was playing in england, Italy or Spain then he would most likely be worth about £10 - £12 million. I think that he will go for about £6 so given that value I think it's fair to say he's cheap at half the price. Any of the Rangers fans rumblings to the opposite can be ignored as I am sure they would snap him up if the could have got him cheap enough.
