Humans can and do behave in a way which we would characterise as evil. If you believe that a god created the universe, and us, then it's undeniable that without his choice to create us, the evil that we do would never have existed.

Why would anyone want to worship a deity who knowingly caused all evil to exist? Doesn't that mean you worship evil?

What is so obvious to some of us is avoided like the plague by others.

You are, of course, correct, Icarus. When it comes to litigation we blame the manufacturer far more often than the user (consider that a woman won a suit against a car manufacturer because it didn't tell her that Cruise Control was not the same as Auto-Pilot).

God created a tree of knowledge of good and evil, and placed it in the garden where humans could get to it. And He knew, beforehand, that they -would- take from the tree. Whose to blame for this? God, of course. If I, as a parent, leave a vat of poison in the living room and allow my son to get to it, do you think I'm not responsible if he drinks from it, even after I tell him not to? Of course I'd be held responsible, and rightly so.

But for god-worshippers, the idea that god created evil is anathema. It is one of the most noticeable irrationalities of being religious.

I am a Christian - but not one of those "Christians" that berate other people for not believing or calling other people sinners.

I believe that evil exists in order to give us perspective. If we didn't have evil, how would we appreciate the good in life? Some of the greatest people rise up to do incredible things after being faced with atrocities.

I believe that all men carry good and evil in their hearts and that how you process each is dependent on your character, your societal upbringing, and your environment.

Evil exists, but worshiping God doesn't mean that you are worshiping evil. I honestly believe that, without evil, life itself would hold little meaning to humankind. Seeing evil, in all its' forms, enables us to see the good in people - the humanity that exists even when situations are too horrific to deal with.

Great people have risen out of adversity and great situations have arisen after people have been subjected to evil. As evil as the terrorist attacks of 9/11 were, the situation brought out the best in Americans and made heroes out of many.

I'm not religious, and I think the concept of good/evil is flawed because it's so dependent on culture.
But to answer your question: God is said to have created man with free will, which means that every person has a choice. You could say that free will is something good that comes at a price.

You ask this question through your life experience.

I know what you are trying to say is,

God created you
But you are an evil
So God is responsible

Isn't it???

But God did not create you as an evil. You became an evil by your choice. God is therefore not responsible for the evil things people do or say by their choice.

So your question is pointless.

Anyway now you have a choice....my dear,

hell or heaven?

Apparently god created humans, but other animals were already here, because one of them introduced humans to evil, which was also already here, apparently. Evidently god had no control over animals, as they evolved from little bugs and things. Gods plan was that humans would remain pure, whatever that is, but the animals weren't as dumb as he had thought. He felt a bit down there for a while, but then invented prayer so we could all build up his confidence again by pretending he was still in charge.

It works for me.

This depends entirely on your definition of God. I'm an agnostic Christian but my idea of God, if it did exist, would not be the traditional one I believe you're referring to.

Additionally, evil is necessary. Assuming, for argument's sake, that there is a God and that he is traditionally defined, I would think you would have to worship the evil along with the good and praise God all the more for having the foresight and the emotional capacity to allow us to harm ourselves.

God gave free will and some angels decided to take it too far by questioning his judgement and that was the root of all evil. I do not worship evil but God who is above all things.

The University professor challenged his students with this question"Did God create everything that exists?"A student bravely replied, "Yes he did!"God created everything?" The professor asked,Yes sir", the student replied:The professor answered, "If God created everything, then God created evil, since evil exists, and according to the principal that our works define who we are, then God is evil."The student became quiet before such an answer. The professor, quite pleased with himself, boasted to the students that he had proven once more that the Christian faith was a myth.
Another student raised his hand and said, "Can I ask you a
question professor?"Of course", replied the professor:The student stood up and asked, "Professor does cold exist?"What kind of question is this? Of course it exists. Have you never been cold?" The students snickered at the young man's question:The young man replied, "In fact sir, cold does not exist. According to the laws of physics, what we consider cold is in reality the absence of heat. Every body or object is susceptible to study when it has or transmits energy, and heat is what makes a body or matter have or transmit energy. Absolute zero (-460? F) is the total absence of heat; all matter becomes inert and incapable of reaction at that temperature. Cold does not exist. We have created this word to describe how we feel if we have no heat."The student continued, "Professor, does darkness exist?"The professor responded, "Of course it does."
The student replied, "Once again you are wrong sir, darkness does not exist either. Darkness is in reality the absence of light. Light we can study, but not darkness. In fact we can use Newton's prism to break white light into many colors and study the various wavelengths of each color. You cannot measure darkness. A simple ray of light can break into a world of darkness and illuminate it. How can you know how dark a certain space is? You measure the amount of light present. Isn't this correct? Darkness is a
term used by man to describe what happens when there is no light present."
Finally the young man asked the professor, "Sir, does evil exist?"Now uncertain, the professor responded, "Of course as I have already said. We see it everyday. It is in the daily example of man's inhumanity to man. It is in the multitude of crime and violence everywhere in the world. These manifestations are nothing else but evil.
To this the student replied, "Evil does not exist sir, or at least is does not exist unto itself. Evil is simply the absence of God. It is just like darkness and cold, a word that man has created to describe the absence of God. God did not create evil. Evil is the result of what happens when man does not have God's love present in his heart. It's like the cold that comes when there is no heat or the darkness that comes when there is no light."The professor sat down. The young man's name -- Albert Einstein (gotta love 'em)

God has not got an evil bone in his body, with the aide of Satan we commit evil deeds, and there is nothing god can do short of ending the world, how would you like it if God poked his nose into everybody's business, that man would be so busy, as it is there are billions of prayers he has to answer, remember if it wasn't for the snake that prompted eve to bite the apple there would not have been any evil, so it is thanks to Satan that there is so much evil in this world. It is not God that caused the evil it is the human race, and I think all humans are cursed with the fact that they can do as they please and nothing is going to stop that evil, except for the end of humanity as we know it
