You can buy a flea comb at any pet store. Comb the kittens with it and then put the fleas in a bottle(with a cap) with soapy water in it. The soapy water kills the fleas and they won't get back on your babies. Spray their bedding and carpets with a flea spray- just make sure it is dry before the kittens touch it. This should help. Make sure you treat the mom with Advantage or something similar.

Take your kittens to the vet first of all. To make sure that although they have fleas, they are healthy. Depending on the weight and age of your baby kittens, the vet may give you stuff called Ovitrol. This is applied on a cotton ball or piece of gauze and rubbed all over the kittens bodies. Avoid the eyes, inside of ears and nose and genital areas and butt. Or you could put some on a towel and wrap your kittens in this towel and hold them for 5-15 minutes and the fleas will die and fall unto the towel.
Good luck with your kittens! May the bond and love between you and your kittens last a life time!

what ever you do, do not use advantage/advantix, it has been known to kill kittens, i know of several this has happen to. I would recommend you either getting it the frontline shot at the vet, or you can give it a flee bath in dawn dish liquid, it'll kill the flees, also you can take it to a groomer and they give flee dips, and another way is you can give him a bath in baby shampoo, then once you rinse the shampoo off the kitty, mix water and avon skin so soft oil and rub it into the kittys fur and skin , it does also workfor dogs, but my dog is older,i just spray it directly on her and rub it in. you can also by garlic tablets from a vet and mix in her food and it will help repell flees.

Hi Nicole...Frontline, Advantage are generally the most effective flea treatments available from your vet. Most over the counter flea treatments are ineffective and some have been known to be fatal. Flea collars tend to be extremely toxic and can be fatal especially for kittens. They are one of the products primarily why many people have been pursing the corporations legally to stop selling them on the market. Hartz in particular (see links below) has a class action lawsuit where owners young pets have either suffered serious medical ill-effects and others have died using their products.

DO NOT! put a flea collar on mommy or babies,! that is the worst thing it kills kitties lots of times, if your kitties are at least 3 weeks old go to any vet, and at the counter they sell advantage, get it for sm. cats up to 9 lbs. put half on one kitten and half on another, so if you have 4 kittens get 2 tubes, and use one full one on mamma, if they are indoor kitties you will not have to repeat this for 5 or 6 months. eme if you need any kittie help god bless. iadorecats1955@netscape.com

Ask a vet; the mother cat obviously had fleas, and has passed them on; they will also have worms, which can kill small cats. Take them to a vet; he will be able to offer advice on what is proper for kittens; dont buy stuff from the petshops, it can kill them. Ask an expert.

Give mommy the flee collar or flee treatment. It'll spread to the kittens.
If that doesn't work call the vet for a mild powder for the babies.

I wouldn't recommend the collars for mum or babies, in case they chew them, and become ill as a result. Frontline, which you get from the vet (in the UK) is really good and safe. You may also need to make sure any fleas that are lurking around the house are dead too - they're real survival experts - so that the animals don't get re-infested.

a safe way is to go to your health food store and get Dr. Bronners liquid Euclapsis soap and wipe down the kitten/cat/dog. It is completely safe and works for people who are around large amount of animals *(shelter workers). the peppermint soap is great for people to keep mosquites off.
