A cute dress for outside and a sexy lingerie for inside. She could wear both when you take her out to a nice restaurant and the lingerie will pay you back the efforts you had made (once you come back home). Enjoy!

Do some of the things you did for her when you were still courting. Plan ahead for an evening out. Make dinner reservations. Get a baby sitter to spend the night if needed. Book a good room in a decent hotel (not motel 6). Take her dancing, or to a play, or a movie. Order a bottle of wine with dinner. Be sure to clean the car out like you did when you were dating. Dress and groom yourself nice, and give her some ideas about the evening, so she can dress accordingly. Romance her! Gaze into her eyes like you did when you were infatuated with her. Tell her how much you appreciate her being in your life. Jewelry always works! Jewelry!!! Jewelry!!! It is romantic. Don't buy her a vacuum cleaner or kitchen appliance.

Throw her a surprise birthday party, and buy her a nice piece of jewelry.

30 is traumatic, because you're moving into middle age. Well, you KNOW it's not really middle age, but it seems like it when you're coming out of the 20s. (I remember MY 30th...)

Jewelry will make her feel loved and valuable to you. She can wear it and feel attractive, "despite" being 30.

A party will make it a celebration instead of sitting home and crying...

By next year, she will realize that 30 is still very young :-)

I don't know. But, my 30th birthday was my hardest as of yet. You are no longer young, but yet, you don't feel old yet. I cried when I turned 30, so, maybe a box of tissue.

when it was my moms birthday i took her nick name and wrote it on five different poster boards then put them up on the main street in her town and the last poster board said her age, using her nickname only friends and family knew. so it said cookie is, cookie is, cookie is, cookie is, cookie is, and the las one 50. she got such a kick out of it and didnt know who did it for years.
